August 16, 2015. August 16, 2015. Strictly on the level. As she is restricted by the buggy, then, so am I. I am always looking out for low level, even-surfaced walks suitable for the buggy, with just a glimpse of longing at those oft-remembered hills. Parking here is always a problem, especially at weekends, so, get there early. Travelling from Standish to Horwich, once past the Anglezarke reservoir, follow the brown signs and turn left towards Rivington Hall. It makes a much longer walk but I al...Liver...

Timing – radical rumblings
https://radicalrumblings.wordpress.com/2015/08/07/timing
August 7, 2015. August 7, 2015. Last night I glanced out of the window to watch two wood pigeons perched close together on an rooftop, billing and cooing and exchanging what looked like kisses. The clouds above and beyond them were infused with a golden tinge from the setting sun. It looked like it would be the perfect shot as I rushed upstairs to get my camera. No outside with camera poised I looked up at where the pigeons were and there they were, gone. The birds had flown. There’s always tomorrow.

October 6, 2016. The wild duck startles like a sudden thought. And heron slow as if it might be caught. The flopping crows on weary wing go bye. And grey beard jackdaws noising as they flye. The crowds of starnels wiz and hurry bye. And darken like a cloud the evening sky. The larks like thunder rise and suthy round. Then drop and nestle in the stubble ground. The wild swan hurrys high and noises loud. With white necks peering to the evening cloud. The weary rooks to distant woods are gone. Follow radica...

November 1, 2016. November 1, 2016. October 18, 2016. All domestic dogs bark – wild dogs, as a rule do not. Why domesticated dogs should do so is open to speculation, but one suggestion is that they are trying to imitate human speech. One thing all nations seem to be agreed on is that dogs never emit a single bark. October 13, 2016. October 7, 2016. A Day in the Life – Tristan Noon. October 6, 2016. October 6, 2016.
