不妥的地方是要硬將這些分析得出的結論去強加於一個 文化 上，即 你應當怎樣怎樣，因為你是中國人 之類的言論。 這可會令人覺得 我本就是這樣了，不能改變 ，亦造就了一些自然應驗的預言(self-fulfilling prophecy)。 在平面設計而言，勉強要去做所謂的 中國風 設計，結果淪為表面化的 中國符號 ，跟各國唐人街的牌坊、彫龍彫鳳不遑多樣，是宣示勢力、霸佔地頭的行為。 難道中國文化已經没有甚麼 賣點 ，要 食老本. 難道要亂七八糟、五顏六色、文字星羅棋布才算是不折不扣的本地設計嗎 不過， 港式 設計當然不是 中式 設計了 平面設計，又稱傳達設計，為的是傳情達意。 John Heskett將現代主義設計中談及的 function 分為 utility 和 significance ，我認為這個想法很好。 Utility即 如何用 ，significance即 有何意義。 當然，引用的是一個 老外 的理論，對中國人來說未免有欠說服力 一笑。 回歸十三年，設計界或社會中都為 何為香港 ， 何謂中國 ， 香港是否中國 ， 我是誰 等的問題之中糾纏不清。 我同意陶傑說的 崇優 而非 崇洋。
