Monday, October 31, 2011. Written by Mona Simpson, Steve Jobs' sister, has no doubt made its rounds all over the world wide web - but its worth posting even if for the millionth time. It is very moving and beautiful. Monday, October 17, 2011. Mindset After Failure is Profound. By Jonah Lehrer on Wired.com. Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Thursday, January 5, 2012. Don't over think decision making. I am speaking to myself if no one else. I have a major tendency to over think decisions - even the seemingly unimportant ones. I am almost certain i have posted this article. Here before but regardless it is certainly worth reposting. This piece. By Jocelyn Glei on 99%. Culture and Connection: August 2011

Friday, August 26, 2011. Encounters with Steve Jobs. I have not had any.but all these people have and they shared a bit about it. They are certainly compelling stories. Stories that cause me to ponder - what is it about someone that has such an impact on others. Is there such a thing as "it? A quality that you are born with. You have "it" and others don't. And this makes you special - or at least more special. Either way this is a compelling read. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Thursday, August 4, 2011. Regard...

Worship and Whatnot: Kite Flying

http://worshipandwhatnot.blogspot.com/2010/06/kite-flying.html

Monday, June 21, 2010. Hello, blogger friends. My name is Amanda Carter. Just thought we ought to reintroduce ourselves. I've been on vacation and school has been out for BOTH of the girls, so time has become a little more scarce while albeit fun these past few weeks. Ok, I'm done making excuses about why I haven't blogged in so long. Haven't you seen a kite before? Then I realized, probably, like me, it had been a long time. We're so techy these days and techy living has created a culture of "down l...

Experience Matters: 2010-04-18

http://theexperiencematters.blogspot.com/2010_04_18_archive.html

Technology rules.my life? Just got done using the the speaker phone option on our new phone system at work. its amazing how great these things sound! Who knew that we would be living in the day and age where technology was so advanced that i can talk to someone on the phone through a tiny microphone and hear them back on a $2 speaker and feel like they are sitting right in front of me. sure beats the old rotary phone days i grew up on with the big stick on shoulder cushion for "hands free" chatting!

Experience Matters: The Environments Marketing Problem

http://theexperiencematters.blogspot.com/2010/05/environments-marketing-problem.html

The Environments Marketing Problem. I am a Twitter. Of the many reasons I love Twitter (and there is an ever growing list) one of them is the fact that i can follow a few "fringe" people in our culture and get some insight on popular culture and viewpoints in 140 characters or less. I got a great quote in my feed the other day that really made me think about 2 areas in life that I tend to find myself in conversation about: Recycling and Religion. Soak that in for a second . I made a list:. Really the lis...

That's right I'm talking to you! Are you the type of person that it takes someone knocking you upside the head or standing in your face with a bullhorn to get your attention? I am and was reminded of it in a great conversation the other day with a lady on staff concerning the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit knows you better than you know yourself and He will never prompt you in an area you are not equipped to handle". Talk about a freeing statement if you acknowledge its truth! Having an Impossible Week.Do Something Illogical! I shared the following with our staff on Monday and have had several great conversations in the days that followed. I thought maybe there might be something in here that could speak to the readers of this blog. In your next prayer time maybe you could go through the following areas - it will take 15 to 20 minutes of your day. When you are finished i would love to hear if God has revealed anything specific to you about your life! Am I a good follower?

http://theexperiencematters.blogspot.com/2010_03_21_archive.html

What does any of this matter and why take the time to blog on it - well, as with everything it really parallels what's been going on with me in general. Ever feel like you are healing up really well? You've got the scars from wounds and life lessons but you are on the up swing and beginning to look towards the next chapter in your life only to take a look at that scar and see the nagging remains of infection and woundedness? The same person who challenged me on dealing with my past suggested i write out ...

Experience Matters: Keeping it real...

http://theexperiencematters.blogspot.com/2010/09/keeping-it-real.html

Its been quite a while since I last posted some thoughts - maybe "a while" is in understatement. The reason? Well there are a few factors that have entered into my lack of blogging: Busyness at work and home have been at an all time high and more importantly there haven't been too many topics and thoughts that I have felt pressed to comment on and share my thoughts. That changed yesterday as I was doing my random Twitter check. I'm rambling - here's his tweet:. Here's the deal: Realness does not equal co...

Summer Namm.Silly and Sick Gear. Had a chance to attend summer NAMM last month. Below are some pics of the goofy gear and my list of top gear. I of course was most interested in finding some new Bass maker but was unsuccessful. I did however see some funky Bootsy Collins Signature basses, a 12 string bass, and THE BASS player Victor Wooten:. Warrior Guitars were there and they are exploring a new DeathMetalWorship line of guitars. This one is called "Crown of Thorns":. Dirty Red" : This Lexington based c...

Worship and Whatnot: It's Been a While...Seriously, since 2010

http://worshipandwhatnot.blogspot.com/2014/03/its-been-whileseriously-since-2010.html

Tuesday, March 4, 2014. It's Been a While.Seriously, since 2010. Well, I decided a four year hiatus from blogging needed to end. Seriously, almost four years! After my sister died, this blog gave me a place to process a lot of the day-to-day things I experienced as I walked through that season. Now, I plan to blog to grow. So.I'm not sure what we'll see appear on these pages in the upcoming months, but I'm looking forward to growing along with whoever wants to read this thing. Posted by Amanda Carter.

Culture & Concepts Spring 2012

Culture and Concepts Spring 2012. Making our way through contemporary American culture with a lens towards the intersection of education, identity and technology. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Final: Constituting the End or Purpose. Well, are all those critics right? Is this a generation of “google-eyed zombies” too plugged in to care? Text addicts that don’t know themselves, let alone know how to spell? The dumbing down of a disconnected generation? I don’t think so. You proved them wrong. Friday, May 4, 2012.
