Puck Boy Chronicles: May 2012
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Hockey read of the day. Apparently some leagues frown upon drinking before and during games (which actually makes sense). Here's the story. The article is amusing enough but check out the photo: what the hell kind of beer league has a trophy that big and what the hell is the bare-ass dude in the background doing? Labels: beer league hockey. Sunday, May 20, 2012. Tour of California, Stage 8. Tour of California, Stage 8. A photo by JulieAndSteve. Friday, May 18, 2012. Can't watch hoc...

Puck Boy Chronicles: Must be hockey night...
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012/09/must-be-hockey-night.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Must be hockey night. Beer 1 can of dog food means my team must be playing. I'm curious about the hefs from Sierra Nevada. The Summer Twilights from Deschutes Brewery in Bend are sublime and seasonal - I got the last six-pack at my local grocery. My girlfriend said I should horde them for myself, but I thought the hockey Gods would look more favorably on my team if I shared them with my teammates. Labels: beer league hockey. Puck Boy Chronicles: March 2012
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 30, 2012. What would a normal person do? It's half an hour before a big game and your one-eyed mutt of a dog lifts his leg on your hockey bag that resides in the yard - because it's not allowed in the house. You would pretend it didn't happen and proceed with said bag directly to the rink? Isn't that the right thing to do? Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Hockey crimes and misdemeanors, part 1,328. Easy enough assignment, right? I don't need to tell you the puck where ended up. NYT Slap Shot Blog.

Puck Boy Chronicles: Take that, Gary Bettman!
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012/09/take-that-gary-bettman.html
Thursday, September 13, 2012. Take that, Gary Bettman! As for the lockout, I mostly sympathize with the players - since they're the ones I'm going to see and they're the ones getting concussed for the sake of my entertainment. My first favorite excerpt from a media story (the NYT). Ryan Miller, the Buffalo Sabres goaltender, took a dim view of Bettman’s stewardship. My second favorite excerpt from a media story (again, the NYT. That total since Bettman took the job in 1993, 1,698 regular-season games, ex...

Puck Boy Chronicles: Timeout on hockey for a little backpacking
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012/08/timeout-on-hockey-for-little-backpacking.html
Friday, August 10, 2012. Timeout on hockey for a little backpacking. Just got back from a nice four-day backpack in the Big Pine basin of the John Muir Wilderness - classic Easter Sierra. The above photo was taken at sunset at Fourth Lake - a big thunderhead rolled up from the Owens Valley producing some pretty unbelievable colors. Puck Boy Chronicles: August 2012
http://puckboychronicles.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Second stab at photographing hockey. In order to help my team recently, I declared myself a healthy scratch for a summer league game and took another stab at photographing the exciting sport of adult recreational hockey. Here's the gallery. The obvious remedy is to spend $2,000 on a really fast telephoto, but that would cut into the money I need to pay league fees, pickup fees, adult clinic fees and stick time fees each week. While on my smugmug site. And Big Pine Lakes. Subscri...
