Sunday, March 30, 2008. We have traveled to the eastern coast and Vung Tau Province, to host a two-day camp for children from all of the provinces that we have worked in. Internet access is so bad that I will not post any photos until we get to Saigon. Think running water is so amazing. Know that the they have received all of your fun bags and drawings and were very excited. The kids are fabulous and worked very hard to perform at tonight's talent show. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. We Are Back Home! It was a long flight and the jet lag is awful. Check back in a few days - I intend to add more photos and some stories that I didn't have time write about while we were in Vietnam. The trip was phenomenal and there is so much still to digest! Links to this post. Brianna is definitely Vietnamese! I'm wearing a sleevless shirt and she has on a long sleeve jacket! She probably wasn't even sweating! Once the distribution was over, the whole group of 23 kids and 10 adults (including the 2 teenagers), and the tourist agency staff and translators would go back to the hotel and rest. 2008 Vietnam Aid Expedition. Here are our final numbers. Over $53,000 raised and priceless in-kind donations. 350 children and 40 chaperones went to camp (including transportation, lodging, meals and clothes) to see the ocean and have fun! They traveled by bus up to 14 hours to get to camp! 250 bikes given to every child in our scholarship program in 5 different towns. 350 "fun bags" given to all the children that attended camp. 2 new houses started in Rach Gia (Kien Giang). 1 new house started in My Hiep.

2008 Vietnam Aid Expedition. Day 7 - One day in Saigon - Tan Hung District. The medical and distribution team had one last day on site in district 7. We had 100 children to see who got their medical exams and bikes, and food. The girls here are our oldest girls, and their family has been pushed to the outer limits of the city to live in squalor as the downtown tourist areas grow and prosper. They were our healthiest.
