Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Thrifting Finds and Other Goodies. My trip to California has been pretty fun. I came for Easter but ended up staying because I'm in charge of the bridal shower for my cousin's wedding and it's so much easier to plan a party when you are actually in the same state! I want the refreshment table to look super awesome so I've been all over Pinterest looking at tablescapes. Once I decided on a theme I managed to find EXACTLY what I needed. I'm so pleased! Sunday, March 18, 2012. Ootori-Sama Amugurumi (AKA Duck Spirit). My son LOVES his Totoro! He stares at it and "talks" to it all the time. But Totoro needs some friends. The next adorable Hayao Miyazaki character I wanted to make was one of the Duck Spirits from "Spirited Away". They're so cute! A "G" sized hook. White felt and black embroidery floss for eyes (or safety eyes). Row 1: ch 3, sl st to first chain, then 6 sc in circle. (6 sts). Row 2: 2 sc in each sc (12 sts). Bind off leaving a 8-10 inch tail.

Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Amigurumi Me (or you) Part 2! As promised, here is the pattern to make an amigurumi man. Here is the pattern for the Amigurumi Baby. And here is the pattern for the Amigurumi Girl. Make the head, arms, and body, bodice, and sleeves like in Part 1. Follow the same instructions for the legs, but only fasten off one leg and instead of a flesh tone, use blue for the jeans. Once you have finished the 2nd leg do the following. Row 11: sc in the next 6 st. I used this hair tutorial.

Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Dia de Los Muertos dress. Sorry, I've been away! I got an internship at a really cool company and I kinda had to move for it. So my life has been a little hectic lately! All you need is an article of clothing to print on, a sketch of what you want, and a bleach pen. First you make a sketch. Then copy your sketch onto your clothing. Be sure to put something under it so the bleach doesn't soak through! Let it sit for a while. Make up optional. Lol. Labels: Dia de Los Muertos.

Inspired by the tumblr page Text From Dog. I decided to make my dog a Batdog costume for his birthday. If you haven't heard of/seen Text from Dog yet you need to stop what you're doing and read it right now. It's hilarious. If my dog could text, this is probably what he would say.
