September 21, 2013. I loved it. I loved the journey. The trains, the escalators, the moving walkways, the people all in a hurry for some reason, the turnstiles, the metro stations with endless hallways and passages and doors and sounds and smells. Gettin' dirty in Africa. I joined the Peace Corps because it was, in my selfish eyes, an all expenses paid adventure in a distant, exotic land. That's exactly what it was for me, and then some. I even kept a blog about it, and most of it still exists!

November 10, 2013. My love for Portugal. Portugal is amazing. The people of Portugal are charming. I love it here. I still don't have a bike. Maybe I'll find one soon. I've also been thinking about sailboats. Gran Canaria, just off the coast of Morocco, is the launch point for most sailboats making a transatlantic journey. December is primetime for such a journey. December is near. I need to cross the Atlantic. I want to sail. Hmmm. Obrigado. Boa noite. The End is the Beginning.

September 30, 2013. I now find myself in a charming little town called Los Arcos. I just did my laundry and had a chorizo and cheese sandwich for lunch. I'm sitting in the quiet center plaza listening to birds and feeling the cool breeze. It's siesta time so the streets are pretty quiet with the exception of the inflow of pilgrims finishing their day's walk. The rhythm of the walk.

September 30, 2013. The rhythm of the walk. Now that I'm almost a week into this journey, I've developed a sort of routine which seems to be the routine most pilgrims keep here. I'll share it now. The path is mostly dirt with a few stretches on paved roads. This path is thousands of years old and often goes over medieval and sometimes roman built bridges. I'm spending about $30-$35 per day on average for everything. It's a pretty cheap adventure. The people who walk.
