MOBILE HEALTH – Persuasive Tech
http://captology.stanford.edu/projects/mobile-persuasion.html
The Persuasive Tech Lab looks at how mobile phones can be platforms for persuasion. In particular we are interested in how mobile devices can be used to improve the health of everyday people. We focus on what is really working to change people’s health behaviors, right now. Since 2007 we have been bringing together academics, government agencies, mobile vendors, and other private sector health organizations at conferences and workshops to share insights, resources, and best practices. With our co-hosts, ...

Exploring how people function and new approaches. In every complaint there is a success. The success is having had the resources, competence, or luck to arrive at a place in which this is your biggest problem, rather than something more sinister. Laura in CyberLand: More Philippines
http://burgundyjade.blogspot.com/2012/04/more-philippines.html
Thursday, April 26, 2012. Having dared my boss’s 17 year-old son to borrow a motorcycle from a stranger, I questioned the quality of my adult chaperon skills. (My boss is not on this trip, only her son.) In my defense, it’s not my fault I keep drinking with the kids. The photographer is my age and he’s the one that keeps buying all the alcohol. II A developing country. Today, I was told the road to the next village crossed a river 27 times. I assumed this meant via 27 bridges, but that was naive. Eventua...

Saturday, April 14, 2012. For the second half of the Taiwan visit, my brother had left so I hung out with his friends. They called me Cliff’s sister instead of using my name. We went to Taroko, a national park on the east coast. Afterward , we went to a club where we met a stewardess. Especially if you are buying them with your partner present. Note: name changes have been made to ensure the protection of Josh’s not-at-all obvious role in the following story.). So many condoms that we are all out. We exclaim as store employees and customers pass by. When fin...

Laura in CyberLand: Impossible
http://burgundyjade.blogspot.com/2012/04/in-orient.html
Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Some girl got duped into marrying my brother. Being the drunkard that he is, he attempted to dip her on the dance floor at the wedding reception, causing them both to fall flat on the floor. I assume she knows she made a mistake. Wedding photos coming soon! For now, Jackie (my sister in-law) has family in Taiwan, so we flew to Taiwan to meet them. People here speak to me in Chinese until I look at them blankly, and attempt to say "Me american. No understand.". Para; 5:23 AM.
