Sadly we don't see any Curlews, but we occasionally hear them in summer when we walk in the hills above the house. We do however see a wide range of wildlife around the house and garden. The following have been spotted so far:. Badger, Fox, Rabbit, Squirrel, Stoat, Mouse, Vole, Pipistrelle Bat. Others: Frog, Toad, Newt, Slow-worm. Red Kite hovering above Cwm-Mawr. The valley was farmed by the Griffiths family of 3 brothers until recently. All three brothers had their own unique personalities and there are some locally who will recount many amusing tales of the brothers over the years. For some pictures of the three brothers. The longest surviving of the brothers was a real character who loved to pass the time of day with walkers passing his farm cottage. He made many friends from all corners of the globe with his charm and wit.
