Christocentric: Comfortable with Our Creator
http://mattheckel.blogspot.com/2013/10/comfortable-with-our-creator.html
In him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Comfortable with Our Creator. Luther once wrote, "When I heard the name of Christ I used to turn pale, but then I clung to his humanity and I was not afraid of his being God." It is Christ who makes us comfortable with out creator. Wednesday, October 09, 2013. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Christocentric: A Wilberforce to Be Reckoned With
http://mattheckel.blogspot.com/2013/12/a-wilberforce-to-be-reckoned-with.html
In him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Tuesday, December 17, 2013. A Wilberforce to Be Reckoned With. My rating: 4 of 5 stars. Wilberforce is the embodiment of Chesterton's quip, "The only thing to be done with the ideal is to do it." Wilberforce and his group not only brought slavery to an end in the British empire but also re-christianized Britain with their reformation of manners. View all my reviews. hunts and lulu: officially 4
http://wingsforhuntleigh.blogspot.com/2012/04/officially-4.html
Monday, April 09, 2012. I know these pictures are completely old news, but as I was going through them I just had to post a few because they remind me of so many hilarious memories. So for Lucy's 4th birthday I finally threw her a "big girl party" and got a magician and. Here we are at the beginning of the magic show: curiosity is fresh, magician is "normal" complete with a purple blazer and all. He is part of The International Brotherhood of Magicians. Fun, from what I remember. Miltons. new zealand.

hunts and lulu: mother's day and more
http://wingsforhuntleigh.blogspot.com/2012/05/mothers-day-and-more.html
Sunday, May 20, 2012. Mother's day and more. We have a serious drooling problem around here. Mother's Day was really fun for me this year. This is probably the best picture of me and the three, which isn't really saying much, since Lucy and Polly are completely disinterested in the camera. Oh well. It's just a memory. And memories are always imperfect, at best. Even the best of memories. I love being a mom. It's exhausting, exhilarating, humbling, eye-opening. You are such a faithful woman! Miltons. ...

hunts and lulu: anchors away
http://wingsforhuntleigh.blogspot.com/2012/05/in-just-few-short-hours-our-family-is.html
Friday, May 25, 2012. In just a few short hours, our family is embarking upon our biggest adventure to date. I am proud/excited/nervous/happy to say that we are adventuring back to Hong Kong! How could we leave Lucy? Okay Let's go as a family of 5. We're ready for it. This is what we value as a family: let's begin to put it into practice. Travel is never. Easy, but it is will change your life, if you allow it. Living there, but, oh well. Here's my second chance! Have a blast, and let your hearts be chang...

Christocentric: What We Can't Avoid
http://mattheckel.blogspot.com/2013/02/what-we-cant-avoid.html
In him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Thursday, February 7, 2013. What We Can't Avoid. To say that its "wrong" to legislate morality is a legislation of morality. The question isn't whether we will legislate morality, but what morality will we legislate? The question isn't whether we will tax or not, but what will we tax? Thursday, February 07, 2013. Christocentric: "Peter on the Pond with No Place for Pride"
http://mattheckel.blogspot.com/2013/08/peter-on-pond-with-no-place-for-pride.html
In him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Saturday, August 31, 2013. Peter on the Pond with No Place for Pride". 8220;Peter on the Pond”. Sermon by Matt Heckel, PhD. Read Luke 5:1-11 and John 21:1-8. Attention) Ever wonder what it would be like to be Peter? Peter lived a crazy life of ups and downs, but he also lived a full life. A life that we are normally scared to live. So the sermon is finally over but we don’t have any record of what Jesus said. Why? 8221; Notice that Peter had been busy w...

Christocentric: Maddening Love
http://mattheckel.blogspot.com/2013/04/maddening-love.html
In him all things hold together" (Colossians 1:17). Thursday, April 25, 2013. Sometimes it is more loving to make people mad, than to make people happy. Legalizing gay marriage would make a lot of people happy but it would not lead to their happiness. Restraining them would make them unhappy, but might lead to a greater happiness. This is because living in harmony with "nature and nature's God," despite their desires, will lead to true happiness. Thursday, April 25, 2013. View my complete profile. Novick...
