Running, knitting, what's happening outdoors. Sunday, April 20, 2014. Some signs that winter may actually be loosening it's hold on the northland:. Turkey vultures have returned. Chipmunks are out and about. Daffodils are starting to emerge, along with other perennial plants. Onions are greening (we forgot to dig a few last fall). The snow has receded in our yard to just a pile at the back of the house. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Blogs I read on a regular basis.

Running, knitting, what's happening outdoors. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Long run - such as it is in February. On the way back I added a few miles of single-track trails, some well used by hikers/bikers/runners others not quite so packed. I am grateful for a friend who joined me as it allowed for good conversation and a chance to catch up with each other. Stats for today's run:. 1,289 ft elevation gain. 1,255 calories (not sure how much credit to give that data). Mosaic Hat and Vertical Striped Mittens.

After my diagnosis (two weeks post fracture) I was told I would be in the stirrup (air) cast for 4 weeks. While I was unable to run I biked - a lot! I did head off to the Kettle 100 in early June to crew for a friend who was running the 100K. Initially I had hoped to be a...

Wildflowers are blooming which leads to great discoveries on any outing on the trails. Apologies to Rick and Wayne for misidentifying this one yesterday:. Not All Those...
