Monday, October 29, 2012. 6 months. Half a year. Soon he will be driving a car. My baby boy is 6 months old. As in I have been a mother for 6 months. At 6 months, Jack is:. Up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth (he will crawl in about 2 seconds I am sure). His front two bottom teeth at the same time. it is so sad. on the other hand, he is more cuddly, so that's kind of my favorite. Can sit up on his own for a little bit before he topples over. it's cute. Talks and talks to us. Holy cow, he...

natalie and alex: January 2011

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Best Recipe. Ever. I love bread. A lot. Bread and butter may be my favorite snack/meal, especially is the bread is fresh. At restaurants I tend to eat more of the before-the-food-comes-out bread than my actual meal. Since I am at work/school all day, I love using my crockpot whenever I can. I found this recipe on my friend Whitney's blog (see my list of family and friends) and decided to modify it a bit. 1 envelope (0.25 ounce). OR 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast. 1/4 c warm water.

[ kristen ]: pimples
http://kristensbigadventures.blogspot.com/2013/02/pimples.html
My adventures, great and small. Friday, February 15. Yesterday we arrived at the NGO that we work at, and realized we'd gotten a little dirty from the red dirt on our way over. Alfred, the man who runs the grounds, led us to the kitchen and poured water over our hands as we rubbed them with soap. Me: I think I'm clean now. Alfred: (Pointing to the freckles and moles on my arm): What about those? Me: Oh, those are just part of my skin. I was born with them. They are like dots on my skin.

[ kristen ]: one week in Gulu
http://kristensbigadventures.blogspot.com/2013/02/one-week-in-gulu.html
My adventures, great and small. Thursday, February 21. One week in Gulu. We have been in Gulu for one week and one day. I can't believe it has been so little time, when I feel so at home! My first full day in Gulu (last Thursday), I remember walking around the streets and telling Jenny that I have never been so keenly aware of my skin color. Here in Gulu, everyone is mostly African. We see maybe. I had taken notice of that detail as I wrote my field notes, but I'd forgotten about it soon thereafter.

Second child syndrome | petite talk
https://petitetalk.wordpress.com/2013/03/21/second-child-syndrome
The small moments that are my life. Is “Second child syndrome” really even a thing? It seems like people refer to it like it’s real, and it usually has a negative connotation. Since having Spency boy (15 months after Taylor girl), I fear that it is. Adjusting to a second child was very difficult for me–much more than adjusting to being a first-time mom. Before talking specifically about the 2 kid gig, let me put out my thoughts on the stay-at-home mom gig. Well, guess what friends? If Heidi could be a po...
