Run with Feeling: November 2011
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. Yesterday, I received a pair of these. Another unique aspect of Altra shoes is the wide, very wide toe box. The folks at Altra believe that the toes should be able to splay naturally upon impact and that a healthy foot should be widest at the toes. Probably not, but I think many people would like them and they'll make for a great second pair of trail shoes for me and if there's another 100 miler in my near future, I'm sure I'll use these for most if not all of it. Today I went...

Run with Feeling: November 2012
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 26, 2012. When asked who their running heroes are, most runners would probably start to name off the Olympians of yesteryear; Billy Mills, Frank Shorter, Joan Benoit. Some would even name a few of today's elites, but when I think of my running heroes I think of some of the men and women who taught me and inspired me and accepted me as a new runner. Run with Feeling: February 2012
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 19, 2012. Gorgeous Day in Hartley. Today was the kind of winter running day that you dream of. I like to do my Sunday runs later in the day so I can sleep in and run in the warmer temps and I'm so glad I did that today. My plan was to do between 2 and 3 hours in Hartley, looping around the guard rail loop and what I'll call the swamp loop, making a nice figure 8. Saturday, February 11, 2012. Run with Feeling: December 2011
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 25, 2011. Christmas Day Meander and a Battle of the GPS Watches! Today I went out for a 3 hour long run that I've been planning for a bit. I was hoping to join the boys yesterday for their respective run, but alas, my retail job meant I had to work on the 24th. So, I ventured out on my own. Run with Feeling: January 2012
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 26, 2012. Arizona and the Coldwater Rumble. Around 60 runners lined up at the starting line for the 50k. We started the race in partial darkness and cool temperatures in the 40s. I had high hopes of finishing well in this race, so when the gun went off, I started out quickly and joined the lead pack of about 6 runners, one of whom was Hypo. If the course wasn't extremely rocky, then we were usually running in old river beds which were sandy washes. They were like running on a beach ...

Run with Feeling: July 2011
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 31, 2011. To be perfectly honest, as I sit here right now, I could probably sum up the Voyageur in one word; Ouch! But as you'd expect from a 50 mile race, there are many things that occur and many things that one has to go through from start to finish. I started out my morning with a 4am wakeup. A little bit of coffee an english muffin, and three M&M's (one red, one orange, and one yellow) and I was ready to go. I got through the power line section rather easily and moved on down the trail,...

Run with Feeling: April 2012

Thursday, April 19, 2012. Been Away So Long. So it's now been 2 months since my last post. 2 months! Wow, I need to get my butt in gear. Well, I've pretty much filled those 2 months with running. And working. And sleeping. And then some more running. Such is my exciting life! Starting down at the zoo means a long climb up to the Spirit Mountain ski hills. A nice thing about this is that you simply can't start your run out too fast, the climb won't let you. However, this little puddle, and a few others we...
