Buster Carter was my father-in-law who also had a passion for cars. In the eighteen years I knew Buster, there was never a time he wasn’t working on a car. Much of what I know today on how to work on cars, owe to him. These cars were sold and a ’29 Model A and ’35 Ford Coupe followed. He spent his last years working on two ’51 Fords before a heart attack cut his life short. Buster was buried in a black and gray coffin because everyone knew “Buster would think it would wax up real nice.”. How it All Began.

How it All Began. I was eight years old when I first realized I had a passion for cars. My dad brought home a brand new 1962 Buick Electra 225 convertible. It was white with a rare, rose colored interior. He kept the car in immaculate condition. I started washing the car and helped keep it clean in order to respond quickly to the frequent request to use it in various parades. Starting with a stripped down 1998 S-10, after four years, immeasurable number of hours, encounters with shady and unscrupulous customizers, and way to many dollars later, the end result is what appears below. A multi-show award winner at various shows around the country including two 1st in Class trophies at NOPI Nationals. Over four years, this truck received two different sound systems, three suspension upgrades, two sets of wheels and tires and two new paint jobs (one thanks to a large hail storm).
