A college student in Seattle, WA confronts food in its many forms - in restaurants, the quick bites in between classes and work, and, perhaps most importantly, she confronts the great puzzle of how to feed herself now that her mother doesn't make dinner. Friday, May 30, 2008. Thank you, Mr. Pollan*. So apparently I've become hard to live with. Or at least, I've become annoying. I blame this entirely on the fact that I've recently finished reading. My Big Fat Greek Wedding. So what did we eat? But in the ...

Bus Books: a blog by a curious and avid reader: Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere

http://busbooksblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/neil-gaimans-neverwhere.html

Monday, July 14, 2008. The other day, I saw this girl poring over Neil Gaiman's novel Neverwhere. Of course, the first thing I noticed about her was what she was reading, and not the fact that she had tightly-curled, purple hair, a cat tattoo on her left arm and the emblem of a skull on her purse. But those three things were hard to miss. Caught my eye primarily because of the name Neil Gaiman, an English author. Gaiman is probably best known to mainstream America for his novel Stardust. As it turns out,...

Bus Books: a blog by a curious and avid reader: August 2008

http://busbooksblog.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 9, 2008. Vladimir Nabokov's Invitation to a Beheading. What would you do if you knew you were about to die? What would you do if you were in prison and you knew you were going to die — but you didn’t know when? Those are some of the central questions in Vladimir Nabokov’s. Invitation to a Beheading. A novel I saw a blonde girl engrossed with on the bus the other day. I imagine the book was for class, because I’m not sure whether. Is a novel someone would choose for light summer reading.

Bus Books: a blog by a curious and avid reader: An Introduction

http://busbooksblog.blogspot.com/2008/07/introduction.html

Monday, July 14, 2008. When I take the bus to work each morning, it can be hard not to fall asleep. It's quiet, there are not as many crazies and there's something peaceful about the steady lull of the wheels. This, of course, only lasts until the morning commuters file in and cram the bus to its full capacity. In my immense boredom, I stare at my fellow commuters. Not in a creepy way, but in a curious-to-know-about-their-lives kind of way, which I guess can be creepy. Http:/ thedaily.washington....Bus B...

Bus Books: a blog by a curious and avid reader: A.M. Homes' The Mistress' Daughter

http://busbooksblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/am-homes-mistress-daughter.html

Saturday, August 9, 2008. Am Homes' The Mistress' Daughter. While waiting in line at the ferry terminal (I know, I wasn’t on a bus, but ferries are basically giant buses that travel over water), I did what I usually do - I searched the covers of books people held, looking for a title to catch my eye. One girl standing next to me was devouring a little novel called. The Mistress’s Daughter. As it turns out,. The Mistress’s Daughter. This Book Will Save Your Life. As the story goes, Homes’ birth moth...

Cut and paste generation. Reuse, Renew, Recycle. The lesson we were taught as kids in the 80s (which has taken on even more urgency now in the corporeal plane) taken to the astral plane words, thoughts, basic ideas copied, tweaked, and displayed as new. Reusing the content, Renewing said content by a complicated process of synergy with other reused ideas, Recycling content after every renewing so that it can be resued at an ever- increasing rate. A state of mind. 2018 suzsler Thanks, WordPress.

Cut and Paste Mosaics

Welcome to the world of Cut and Paste Mosaics. The work of mosaic artists Liz and Steve Brims. All of the mosaic stained glass panels, planters, water features and bowls seen on these pages. Have been hand cut and pasted at our bay side studio in Seaford,. We experimented with a few different media to begin with. Stained glass offered so much on so many levels. Colour, variety of textures and patterns has made it our favorite medium to work with. Our hobby has become an addiction.
