Sunday, February 27, 2011. Design is performed in 3 contexts: business, professional organization, and government policy. As explained by many examples in the book, design has been the solution for many problems in government and business, and is the reason for much success as well. It's the companies that 'get it' that strive (like P&G, not mentioned in this book, but mentioned in nearly every IDEO book.). Essentially design is everywhere, and it is important to understand its work everywhere. We're hea...

Monday, March 7, 2011. Project Progression: Parte Due. We are in the final stages of the process. Having made the decision in the last week to create pots with collapsible handles and packaging them in a recyclable cardboard cylinder with cloth stretched around it. Now we are making final renders from our preliminary sketches and bringing it all together in a powerpoint. What I've been doing:. CP The Captain Wannabe. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Saturday, March 12, 2011. Journal 10 (J10): Coleman Project - Personal Documentation. We did it. yay. We all worked pretty well together. There were some issues, people showing up late (or not at all), technology not working, etc. Despite our slow start, because we had taken the time to brainstorm so thoroughly, the decisions started just coming out because we all had a clear vision of the project. We went from about 4 'finalist' ideas to eventually working on the organized pots idea.

DSGN200: Conceptualizing Perfection: Coleman Project Progression
http://keepingupwiththetime.blogspot.com/2011/02/coleman-project-progression.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Though we are on track to making some crucial decisions, the group overall is still in the preliminary stages of the design process. We are especially keen on defining the potential users, and I believe that once we choose who we are marketing toward the rest will quickly fall in place. We have begun to look more toward the average suburban household and have done a little research on that target. What I've been doing:. CP The Captain Wannabe. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Sunday, February 27, 2011. We have made good progress, but we still have a long way to go in order to have a finished product. Not many official decisions have been made, but we are heading in some definite directions. We have been focusing our potential user as being related to a suburban family and we've done our research about them, but we haven't made a final decision on the user. Here are our various brainstorming sheets:. Definitions, categories and problems. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Student Blog: Ian G.w. Monday, February 21, 2011. And "what is most appealing to you about design? This was a great presentation and as of now I have already scheduled for more design courses. Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.7. Cradle to Cradle: Chapters 1-3. From Cradle to Grave", and "Once upon a Roof". From Cradle to Grave" informed me of how products are designed and within that process, the end result of the product is planned as well. It disgusted me that the reality of landfills is planned, ...

Student Blog: Ian G.w. Monday, March 14, 2011. Journal 09 A05 progress. We've made excellent progress and have isolated areas of the house we have worked on. Currently we are using the connecting pots and pans idea for the suburban working-class family. As a group, it has been excellent. We have had no problems whatsoever. Even with conflicting ideas! It's still going smoothly and i hope that the presentation goes well. What I have been doing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Journal 09 A05 progress.
