Joy-Making Days: Mendota Gratitude
http://alisalamb.blogspot.com/2013/08/mendota-gratitude.html
Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Our drive up through the mountains and the beautiful scenery and seeing the "strip" of rain in the distance.God's handiwork. Huntin' Club lunch and how we met the Stone family and how she wanted to hug Caroline's neck. Meeting Jessie at the quick stop on the way into Mendota. How gracious and kind he was and how he wanted to "escort" us a better way. Pulling in to this sanctuary of delight and tranquility and plopping down with Eva immediately for conversation and laughter.

Joy-Making Days: June 2014
http://alisalamb.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 20, 2014. Don't let me sink! I just finished week two of swim lessons. I was thinking today about what it must feel like to be in the middle of that pool. Where I can stand up, but they can't. And they have to completely trust me to. Hold on to them, rescue them, not let them sink. Sometimes I let go so that they can "try it on their own,". But I'm always there when their little bodies start to wriggle panicky in the deep. I was driving alone in the car today when all of these thoughts.

Joy-Making Days: Summertime Sleepover
http://alisalamb.blogspot.com/2013/06/summertime-sleepover.html
Saturday, June 29, 2013. This was Caroline's first and Rebecca's last annual Jr High Girls' Summer Sleepover. Somehow I've earned the title of "Craft Mom" for the event. I am thinking about passing the title on. I came up with the craft about 2 hours before the event. I'm only there for about an hour and then it's off for a date night with the hubs. But that little hour is sweet and it's fun to hear these girls thoughts and ideas. they make me laugh. Such delightful young ladies. And find great joy in it.

Joy-Making Days: February 2014
http://alisalamb.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 16, 2014. It's my favorite time of day. the evening-time just before the sun slips down to sleep. The last of it's light provides color through the trees more brilliant than anything I have ever seen captured in man's art. It's breathtaking. I like to sit on my little front porch. Tonight it required a quilt and a willingness to endure the bite of the crisp, cold air with bare feet and short sleeves. I didn't really mind. I opened His Word and read again this Hymn to the Creator. Like th...

Joy-Making Days: 6th Grade Play Date
http://alisalamb.blogspot.com/2011/05/6th-grade-play-date.html
Saturday, May 14, 2011. 6th Grade Play Date. I got so tickled at these two accessorizing their outfits. The purse is about as big as they are. I had never set foot in Hollister for fear of what I might find. It always looked like a dark cave and the music wafting out was loud and loud and. well, loud. I ventured in with the girls and found myself in a world of happy and fun and cute and cozy. They were playing Colbie. When they woke, we went on our traditional "Pajama Donut Run". When I was a little girl, the night before the first day of school was like the night before Christmas. I loved it. Still do. Gumballs and pennant bunting.so fun! My happy place for the next 9 months! Now I just need some students to fill it up. Looking forward to making memories with them! August 15, 2011 at 7:57 PM.
