Dirt Kart racing is a division where 4 stroke engines up to 220cc are fitted to a standard kart chassis, i.e Arrow, CPR, Tonykart etc and raced on a dirt track. Engine modifications can be extensive depending on the class raced and budget. Karts still run slick tyres so a fun class of racing and lots of sideways action is the result. They can be powered by a 270cc 2 stroke or a 450cc 4 stroke single cylinder engine. A Microsprint produces over 60 horse power with total engine. And chassis weight of 200kg. Because of the power to weight ratio they can. Circulate a 520 metre track in just over 17 seconds. Upset the balance and handling of the race car.
