Step Onto Liquid: September 2005
http://stepontoliquid.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 29, 2005. From Pride to Humility. From Theory to Practice. College is in full swing. I'm starting to have exams. Projects are starting to be due. So what do I do for the weekend? I go to the Generations Bible Study Retreat in Santa Barbara. Last weekend at the Cabrillo Inn at the Beach, we had a great time of fun, food, relaxing at the beach, playing midnight Mafia, and learning great truths from God's Word. The main topics of discussion for the weekend were pride and humility. As muc...

Step Onto Liquid: November 2005
http://stepontoliquid.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 11, 2005. I'm psyched out of my mind again. It has been my great blessing to be involved in the music ministry at Generations. I am on a rotating team of musicians who serve by leading worship. The environment is awesome! For the past few years I have been leading music in chapel and in a high school group, and I often look out and see people staring into space, looking down, clearly disengaged with the singing. At Generations everyone is singing! I'd Rather Have Jesus. Here I sit in the...

Step Onto Liquid: May 2006
http://stepontoliquid.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 31, 2006. I am making a conscience effort to keep track of the days and weeks of my summer in order to avoid that unfortunate morning when I wake up and say, "Oh snap! There are only two more weeks left of summer." So far, my summer has been a flurry of activity. I spent week one (of thirteen summer weeks) traveling to Texas and all over California. Well, that does it for the Week 3 update. Hopefully I'll post some tomorrow or Friday about the Beatitudes. Peace. Friday, May 26, 2006. My mo...

Thursday, June 30, 2005. The Blogging Blaze: Beneficial? Director of Grace to You. Calls his blog "Pyromaniac." Under the title of his blog he quotes Jeremiah 23:29, which says, "'Is not my word like a fire? Says the Lord." The word of the Lord is indeed a fire that burns brighter than any other, but lately I have also been seeing the effects of the blogging blaze. Why is blogging beneficial? You might wisely ask. Well, I will give you just a few reasons. First, blogging helps you. I certainly enjoy bein...

Professor Horner’s 10-List Bible Reading Plan | Contending For The Faith

Contending For The Faith. March 25, 2009. Professor Horner’s 10-List Bible Reading Plan. Filed under: Bible Study. 8212; Lynda O @ 7:19 am. This week I started Grant Horner’s Bible Reading Plan for 10 lists, with some modifications into a 12-list plan. Here is a link. Horner’s plan, modified from a Chick tract, includes reading from ten different lists, a chapter a day. Each list is of a different length, and when you reach the end of a list, you go back to the beginning of that list. 1 Comment ». You ar...

Why Christians Should Not Read (or Watch) Harry Potter | Contending For The Faith
https://lyndao.wordpress.com/2009/09/17/why-christians-should-not-read-or-watch-harry-potter
Contending For The Faith. September 17, 2009. Why Christians Should Not Read (or Watch) Harry Potter. Filed under: Christian lifestyle. 8212; Lynda O @ 3:45 pm. To me such choices clearly reflect an attitude and worldview of indifference, a lifestyle of a believer caught up in the trappings of this world. So here are a few questions and thoughts concerning this interest in Harry Potter. Is it wise to read something which advocates witchcraft and the occult? 8221; story, in which a dad responds to his thr...

The Dilemma of the Partial-Preterist: Inconsistency | Contending For The Faith
https://lyndao.wordpress.com/2009/09/21/the-dilemma-of-the-partial-preterist-inconsistency
Contending For The Faith. September 21, 2009. The Dilemma of the Partial-Preterist: Inconsistency. 8212; Lynda O @ 11:06 am. Here I refer to “partial-preterists,” those Christians who reject the futurist view of scripture yet recognize that Christ has not yet returned. Revelation 22:12 — “Behold, I am coming soon! Revelation 22:20 –He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. So which is it? In this textual consideration, the futurist recognizes the doctrine of ...
