This slideshow requires JavaScript. At the same time that some of the girls were taking measurements of the tensile canopy in order to make the new one, the other members of the team were making use of the wood workshop tools such as the jigsaw for cutting the edges and the panels. QUEST FOR A GOOD STITCH. The sewing machine has stitched its last stitch it seems….so off we trek. We attempt to contact the distributor, they are away on holidays until October 3rd. We then get a contact in Bow, travel to them. Very helpful man supplies us with a new screw to hold the needle, a needle with a thick shaft and a box of needles that the machine should take. We get back to discover a) none of the new slim needles work and b) the thick shaft works however we only have 1. September 27, 2011.

2309 – 26.09. First we split the old canopy into quarters, then take one quarter and split it in half and use both pieces as template for all 4 sides. We lay the old tarp on the canvas, and draw precisely around it. We try to layout the pieces so as to be as economical with the canvas as possible. The reception area, consisting of a computer, side lights and stools can sit at the far end of the table, nearest the visitor entrance. The computer hub can be located in the centre of the table. Finally we have stitched the yurt roof together. The 2nd allocation of canvas arrived this week, and we spent Friday stitching it together.
