One benefit to running the farm stand is that it frees us from many of the regulations imposed by the USDA, FDA, and CDFA. While it is important for food sold in the grocery store to be regulated by these agencies, I believe that buying food from someone you know and trust is much more safe than asking the government to keep an eye on the refrigerator. On April 25 the idea of melding the two media, digital design and silkscreen design, was born. The artwork is designed to be silk-screened using color separations and no fountain fill color shading (shading is old school, using halftones) but is printed on an inkjet photo printer instead of laid down with squeegee and screen.
