Winnipeg Cyclist: St. Adolphe... almost.
http://winnipegcyclist.blogspot.com/2010/03/st-adolphe-almost.html
Just some of my adventures as a cyclist, husband, father and whatever else I choose to write about. Saturday, March 27, 2010. St Adolphe. almost. One reason why I wanted to head out that way was it follows the Red River, which is very high this time of year (not as high as last year when the roads were flooded out). As I came up to the turn to go over the river, I saw a barricade. So naturally I went through it and rode the very loose, and very rough gravel road up to the bridge. Ryan they say the bridge...

Neubergthal Cycle Mensch: December 2014
http://neubergthalcyclemensch.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Monday, 22 December 2014. Winter creek rides are the sweetest. It's been winter now for a day or so and it's still raining. It's starting out like one of those winters where you ride creeks and rivers and you don't get cold. You slip around a bit and you follow the snow over the ice and when that disappears you take it straight and easy on the ice. That's the standard line around here these days. Today it looked like this as we rode North from town until the creek devolved into a cow pasture. Studio CX 2...

Neubergthal Cycle Mensch: May 2016
http://neubergthalcyclemensch.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, 8 May 2016. My good man-friend FJR and I have declared our intent to take up the Muerto Challenge #4. Having learned from a past attempt that knowledge and preparation is better than guesses and speculations, we have set about to gain knowledge, and better prepare. So we devised a plan wherein we would drive (gasp! 2) What was the camping like at Patricia Beach? 3) Was the Peter Skrepetez Trail a rideable segue to Rd 43E? 4) Did the Floodway Rd that angles up to Mile 88N actually connect to it?

Neubergthal Cycle Mensch: February 2015

Sunday, 15 February 2015. When we rode off from St. Malo Arena at 8 AM it was -29'C with a North wind blowing at around 20 km/h. Windchill was below -40'C but the race ran anyway, because there was some promise that the temperatures would rise some, and the wind would abate some. These two things did happen, but not until well into the afternoon. We started out in a bunch, but it didn't take long for the pack to stretch. At the first checkpoint in St. Pierre Kim Mitchell caught me with an ice goatee.

Nice ride tonight, up and down between and around the villages around here - Le Beaucet to Ste Gens and back, then to Vanesque, then over to Sananque (the Abbey), then to Murs, and then over the Col du Murs and down (a fun 8 km descent! And then back through Vanesque and Le Beaucet to La Roque. 57 kms. I stopped along the way this time to take some pics. Here they are:. The road up to Ste Gens (a steady 9-11% for 2 kms or so). Mt Ventoux in the distance.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Copper Harbor Ride Report. On the Edge trail has the best vistas of the surrounding hills. My take on the riding in Copper Harbor? It reminds me a little of a ski hill. The town at the base, the uphill trail climb, and then the choice of runs back down. I'm amazed how they managed to make climbing seem so easy, and fun. Really. The trail that you climb to access upper trails has enough downs mixed in that you have a blast, all the while going upwards. Weird. Slope These trail...
