Broome2Perth 2011

Thursday, 27 October 2011. Day 29 Guilderton to Perth- Planned 105 kms Reality 127 kms. The rain stopped for the final day. We could not have asked for better riding weather. It was suggested that the riders travel in as a group along the bike path but it turns out we would plan to go in by road next time. The ride was estimated to be 105 kms but turned out to be 127kms plus 3 kms to the restaurant and 3 kms back! I don't think we should ride this way. Won't use the bike path next time. The end in sight.

Broome2Perth 2011: Day 11 Giralia to Coral Bay 110 kms (Into the wind)

http://www.cycleacrossoz.blogspot.com/2011/04/day-11-giralia-to-coral-bay-110-kms.html

Saturday, 30 April 2011. Day 11 Giralia to Coral Bay 110 kms (Into the wind). The riders were asked to wait until the sun came up before they hit the road today. As soon as the sun peeked it’s head up they were on the road - as pointed out by one of the late starters, they actually started 2 minutes earlier than the day before. Like I said no sleep in on this trip! Packing up in the morning! Not even any shade today! They were all so excited to see this sign until the wind turned on them. Mark- This is M...

http://www.cycleacrossoz.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-25-kalbarri-to-northampton-110-kms.html

Wednesday, 26 October 2011. Day 25 Kalbarri to Northampton 110 kms. The weather is starting to cool down. We are apparently being followed by a storm coming down the coast but we are still in front of it. I've had enough- into the drink for the bike. The wind has started to blow- I wonder in what direction? The wind is picking up and some tough going on our way to Northampton. Visited a settlement of ruins where we had morning tea. This guy got left behind on the last ride. The whole town gets involved.

Broome2Perth 2011: The crew (or the Bosses)??

http://www.cycleacrossoz.blogspot.com/2011/03/crew-waterboy-owner-organiser-boss.html

Friday, 25 March 2011. The crew (or the Bosses)? The Waterboy and owner and organiser. The Boss and chief bottle washer and nurse and cook. You name it she does it! And as I said a new crew member, who appears she doesn't like having her photo taken too often so we will have to get plenty of her on the trip. Watch out for upcoming photos of repeat riders on previous rides. Posted by cycle across oz. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). First day- Broome to Barn Hill. The crew (or the Bosses)? Broome2Perth 2011: Day One: Broome to Barn Hill Station- 132kms

http://www.cycleacrossoz.blogspot.com/2011/04/day-one-broome-to-barn-hill-station.html

Tuesday, 26 April 2011. Day One: Broome to Barn Hill Station- 132kms. Day One and we are off like Flynn. 20 riders and 5 support crew which should read 4:1 but it is really 10:1 as Collis and I are really the only ones responsible for the care of these cyclists, the others are just generous souls who like to help where possible. Everybody arrived safely for the first night at Barn Hill Station except for the occasional prickle when they sat on a prickly bush. Gayle and I made a spaghetti bolognaise but n...

Cross Canada Cycle Tour

Cross Canada Cycle Tour. Monday, August 23, 2010. In my last blog I said "when I get home I will be doing a final update to the blog". Although i arrived in Saint John's a year ago today, it took a lot longer for my trip to end. I'm very fortunate to have done the ride across Canada and thank everyone who helped along the way and at home. It was the trip of a lifetime and I would do it all again. Sunday, August 23, 2009. Day 58 (final day) Aug 23 2009. Dunville to St. John's Nfld. Max 56.7 km/hr. I got u...

1357 kilometres of stories about cycling across Cuba. Monday, July 02, 2007. Getting Ready for the Eastern Cuba Cycling Adventure. Starting August 19, 2007, my husband and I will cycle Eastern Cuba: Santiago, Manzanillo, Bayamo, Holguin, Moa, Baracoa, Guantanamo and back to Santiago to catch the Iron distance race there on September 2nd.
