You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever! An often brief description of bike tours! Audax and Other Bike Rides 2017. As 2017 begins a decision made to return to fixed and drop bars fitted. So onward into the New Year and Audax planning begins! An SR is on the horizon, question being on fixed or not? As it stands fixed until March. So the first 100 being the Flapjack in February, a ride there and back to Chippenham! Onto then an SR (200,300,400 and 600) all in this Audax year . New wheel nuts maybe?

You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever! An often brief description of bike tours! The Audax Quest Continues. With some reluctance I’ve decided to return to gears! Albeit , 9 speed. 38 tooth chainring and 11-32 cassette. Providing a good enough range , going lower could prove expensive! The decision to go to gears arose due to my age I think , I don’t recover quickly and on fixed made recovery even longer! The goal is to gain over 12 points in a six month period from January! You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever! An often brief description of bike tours! The next journey into the unknown begins. Or rather has begun. The Cheddar Gorgeous 300,km Audax on the 26th September. A massive learning curve begins, not eating enough, route finding errors and keeping my chain tight! All challenges to be learnt from and overcome. However with another eleven rides with a minumum distance of at least 200 I’m riding on fixed, it is going to be interesting! The Audax Quest Continues.

A new bottom bracket and chain , coupled with a new saddle and new wheels. It will look pretty again , to me at least. New (white) saddle and bar tape to complete the image . With fitness will come a ride North to visit family, through Wales as a SS. Then back to fixie from Chester to Barrow and Catterick!

The only certainty is change. Riding up a storm. December 21, 2014. I have been floating around Vancouver Island and the Vancouver area wondering what my next move would be for a little while. Not that I wasn’t having a great time meeting some wonderful people. I did! Rolling down the road I noticed two loaded touring bikes right ahead of me. Kerem and Ben.
