We drove to our start location and were excited for the easy 60 miles before us (LOL at 60 seeming like a short ride now). Ride For Water 2016. New Places, New Friends. May 26, 2016. May 27, 2016. We woke up at the church that had generously hosted us the night before, and headed out for our ride. At that point, we had planned our ride for 42 miles. A few miles into the road we saw a guy cycling the opposite direction. Jac waved at him and immediately he turned around and joined us on our ride! Afterwards he turned around to head back, but it was so fun to ride with him for a few hours! Ride For Water 2016. Day 25: Halfway there! June 12, 2016. Wow, I cannot believe we are at the halfway point. Thinking back to the start of this in Oregon seems like a dream. It is going by way too quickly! We began our ride from the hotel in Norfolk around 7:30am. We had a wonderful cloud covering for the first hour, even though it was still warm out.
