Monday, September 23, 2002. Cycling in the Czech Republic. This was my first overseas cycling trip and at this stage I had been only riding for about 12 months. I did this trip with 3 others, all women.This was a self-guided commercial trip run by Sherpa. The bikes were part of the deal, accommodation including breakfasts were pre-booked, the luggage was moved from hotel to hotel and there was some non-bike land transport. ABOUT THIS WEB SITE. This website was started on 12 November 2007 some weeks after our return from cycling in Italy - and is now being updated October 2015! It was whilst we cycled up and up the relentless hills on that particular holiday ("adventure" would be more like the description) and struggled with some of the trains, that I decided to "bite the bullet" and create a web site on my return to chronicle some of our biking holidays/adventures and to share some hopefully helpful bike notes and advice.

Monday, September 2, 2013. In September 2013, we travelled to Milan and then to Padua. From here, we took the train to Trieste and then up to Lake Bled in Slovenia. The plan was to hire bikes here and cycle through Slovenia and Croatia, leaving the bikes at Koper to be collected. Unfortunately, My Friend required urgent cardiac surgery in October so, after a great deal of discussion, we decided to still go but with considerable modifications to our original plans!
