Donderdag 28 april 2011. Nadat ik in Tallahassee me bij het tankstation weer vol energie had getankt ging de reis weer verder. Ik vertrok pas om 1 uur maar het lukte me toch nog om 80km te doen aan het einde van de dag. Hoe? S Avonds kwam ik op een plek uit waar ik weer werd aangevallen door de prikbeesten. De enige oplossing is (terwijl het 30 graden is) en lange broek en trui aandoen maar dan nog vliegen ze je mond, ogen en oren in. Heel irritant. Ik had een hele rustige dag waar ik pas om 9:30 vertrok...

Donderdag 17 juni 2010. Hoe veel kilometer per dag? Ze gaan je fiets stelen! Dit zijn vaak de soort vragen die ik krijg als ik vertel dat ik bijna 20.000 kilometer naar Zuidoost-Azië ga fietsen. Hier de antwoorden! Omdat ik het kan! En natuurlijk omdat ik de wereld wil zien en wat is nou een mooiere manier dan dat vanaf een fiets te doen? Dacht ik: dat wil ik ook! Donderdag 24 maart 2011. Beaumont, TX, USA (16.066km). Ik ben niet in Japan en ik ga niet naar Japan. Ik ben ook niet in Zuid Korea en ook niet in China en ook niet in Vietnam en ik ben ook niet op nog veel meer plaatsen. Maar ik ben wel in the Verenigde Staten! Na 200km kwam ik langs de havenplaats Cua Ong en daarna werd de weg opeens een stuk rustiger. Niet meer de hele tijd dat getoeter overal en gewoon rustiger. Na 2 nachten gekampeerd te hebben in Vietnam kwam ik bij de grens met China! Ik moest dus...

Vrijdag 3 juni 2011. New York (20.105km). Ik kwam er achter dat op mijn laatste dag in Washington Ajax tegen DC United speelde, heel toevallig! Dat kon ik niet missen natuurlijk. Slechts een vierde van het stadion was gevuld maar ik had een prachtige plek vooraan waar ik opeens allemaal bekende Ajax spelers van heel dichtbij zag! Dat betekent daar dat wel 10 procent van de buurt blank was! In Philadelphia kon ik het adres makkelijk vinden omdat ze ook daar het orginele systeem van 1st 2nd 3rd st. geb...

Zaterdag 21 augustus 2010. Ik ben in Roemenie! Uiteindelijk toen ik eenmaal mijn matje en slaapzak had uitgestald en net probeerde te slapen kwam de patrol binnen! In de Karpaten werd ik nog gewaarschuwd door twee duitse fietsers die op twee meter van hun tent een beer hadden gezien! Gelukkig heb ik geen beren gezien. Die duitsers zijn overigens ook de enige andere fietser die ik vanaf Boedapest heb gezien. Donderdag 12 augustus 2010. Even snel een paar foto's vanuit Budapest. Wildkamperen aan de Donau.
