Do we need a war room? Last week saw the deadline for an RFP for the provision of a WAR ROOM for the SAPS. And this wasn't just any war room - it was for the most sophisticated war room one can possibly imagine and it is to be implemented at all levels, from police stations to local, provincial and national levels. I thought the problems with policing related more to police cars not working, cops sleeping on the job - that sort of thing. Did we ever envisage this happening after the fall of apartheid?
