Ultimately, teachers want motivated learners, those who are focused, engaged, and enthusiastic. Motivation is the vehicle that drives students to act. It is the predisposition for quality cognitive engagement (Sawyer, 2006). Games are a medium in which students are intrinsically motivated to be competent, autonomous, cognitively flexible risk takers without consequences (Foster and Mishra, 2009). Genuine engagement is regarded as a blend of motivation, interest, and attention (Otta and Tavella, 2010).
