http://annthrope.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2005. I guess this Gym Class video has been online for a while, but I just saw it and loved it. Very creative. Looks like it was done by a sketch comedy group or something. High schoolers and "guns" and a really cool idea. Check it out here. It's the first link, called Gym Class. Posted by Ann Thrope @ 12:24 PM. Monday, November 28, 2005. If you're looking for a new salad dressing I recommend Trader Joe's shiitake mushroom and sesame vinaigrette. I loves it. I think those goddamne...

http://annthrope.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, May 17, 2006. It's been so long since I've blogged that I forgot my blogger password. It took new Play-Doh scented perfume. To inspire my blogging sensibilities again. Is there anything good about smelling like Play-Doh? I can't give a good reason for not blogging, and so I will blame World of Warcraft for taking up all my spare time. I am an addict, I fully admit it. Please help. Posted by Ann Thrope @ 4:52 PM. View my complete profile. PopWatch, written by my friend Mike.

Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Are we killing journalism in America? This came across on my e-mail discussion list for journalism educators last week. It is from the Character Counts. Web site. It raises some important questions about media ownership and about the way that the media themselves are manipulated and controlled by powerful institutions. Last year, the Knight-Ridder chain of newspapers (including the largest papers in Philadelphia, Miami, Minneapolis and San Jose) were sold off in pieces. The...

Saturday, January 27, 2007. Sen Kennedy shows outrage on minimum wage. It's been 10 years since the federal minimum wage was raised to $5.15 per hour. The House Democrats made raising the federal minimum wage one of their top priorities during the recent "first hundred hours" push. It passed. Links to this post. Labels: kennedy minimum wage. Inspirational day in Olympia. The bill info is available here. Of the hearing is available from the TV Washington Web site. My testimony is about 15 minutes into the...

Monday, October 31, 2005. Halloween is the only time where men put more clothes on and women wear less. We went out to a club Saturday night, where the women were mainly dressed as slutty nurses, slutty she-devils, slutty witches, French maids, genies, belly dancers, slutty schoolgirls, slutty farmgirls and slutty angels. The men dressed as pimps in dark suits, cowboys, prison convicts in stripes, Army rangers, FBI agents and pilots. Posted by Ann Thrope @ 5:27 PM. Death in the morning. To say it best:.

Loganite: June 2006
http://loganite.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 10, 2006. An address to graduates. I presented the commencement address to members of the 102nd graduating class Friday night at the football stadium. The weather, which had included gusty winds and a rain shower earlier in the day, held nicely for the evening - a calm and warm night with a nearly full moon. After the speech, many of my faculty colleagues congratulated me, and after the ceremony, people I don't even know complimented me on the content and delivery. I am pleased to be a...

Loganite: The Dems are off and running
http://loganite.blogspot.com/2007/02/dems-are-off-and-running.html
Saturday, February 10, 2007. The Dems are off and running. I caught the last half of the announcement speech of Sen. Barack Obama this morning, live from Springfield, Ill., at the old statehouse. The site was symbolic, evoking the history of Abraham Lincoln, who served eight years there, and Obama's own history as a state legislator. And, man, that guy can speak! My thoughts on the candidates:. Vice President Al Gore:. The former Iowa governor was a veep short-lister in 2004, a moderate who has a record ...
