Quito is a city sandwiched between volcanoes on its outskirts and so the city stretches along these valleys - 70km in fact, making it a long, thin and very hilly city. The hills behind Tilcara - the stones spell out "Bienvenidos a Tilcara". Tilcara is a small town about an hour North from Purmamarca. It is the site of a large pre-hispanic village called Pucará. The ruins are about 2 km from the town centre on top of a hill overlooking the river valley. The view from Pucará. The circular graves where mummies were buried.

The first floor framing started just before Christmas! And as before, it went up rather quickly. The relatively steep slope means that we can get a view of the roof by just walking up to the next block! Here is the framing completed, ready for the roof to go on.
