The purpose of the competition is to reward gifted young composers and to encourage the growth and excellence of contemporary chamber music. 2,000 U.S. dollars and a premiere performance at the Florida State University Festival of New Music in February 2007. 1 The competition is open to composers of all nationalities who have not reached their 35th birthday by September 15, 2006. 3 The submitted composition must be between 5 and 20 minutes in duration. 6 Each composer may submit only one composition.
