Monday, 2 January 2017. Just how I like it, though hope you all had whatever you preferred. On the way back to the main road from the lodge, I was stopped in my tracks by this imposing plant. Assume it must be a Hoodia sp. When in Kruger a while back I praised the termites ability to build skyscraping mounds - well they've got competition. The dam along with most others in RSA was down to about 50% but the surounding bush was verdant enough to indicate some rain had fallen. Found a Peltopherum africanum.

Tuesday, 29 December 2015. Sedgefield, part deux. With a few days to go before my date with the knife, there was time to do some more local exploring and atlassing. Wednesday, 21 October 2015. Though the roads were not great, the scenery was. A closer view of this weird mountain range. From one of the view sites you are able to look down on Montagu Pass, another of Thomas Bain's (incorrectly spelt previously) works of art. And so to Storms River, eat your hearts out. Tuesday, 29 November 2016. There I was chatting to Jane and she happened to mention the super moon. Closest it's been in 69 years - seem to remember there's something about that number, it's on the tip of my tongue. Was just staggering to the bathroom and boom there it was in all it's glory. Tuesday, 28 June 2016. Went to do some atlassing in the West Coast NP and bumped into a sm all flock of Grey-winged Francolin which I really wasn't expecting.
