Laquo; three days fasted. Five days fasted and why. Day four was not problematic, although I have not been quite as strict as I originally envisioned. Yesterday I had a small amount of coffee and a little bit of white wine. Also, I’ve been having some multivitamins dissolved in water every evening. Today I take a test for German citizenship, a requirement for a permanent residence permit. The fasting does not seem to have affected my ability to study, as far as I can tell. This post has no tag.

Laquo; one day fasted. I’ve now got two days of water-only fasting under my belt, and all is well. Yesterday I experienced slightly lower energy levels, but even then I somehow felt inspired to stay late at work and finish up something that has been on the back burner for a while. The last two nights I’ve slept better than is my usual during the week. Perhaps the lack of coffee consumption is responsible. I’ve awoken feeling fully mentally rested, but physically somewhat sluggish. This post has no tag.

Laquo; six days fasted. Seven days fasted and not why. I’ll take a few minutes to talk about fasting reasons for others that I don’t really care about. I’m aware that there have been interesting experiments with fasting and chemotherapy, but as I’m not currently in need of chemotherapy, it’s a non-reason. Uncomfortable. There are definitely moments about it I don’t enjoy, but the same is true for going on a long hike. It’s just worth it. This post has no tag. Testing WordPress from Emacs w3m.

Laquo; seven days fasted and not why. Lots of work for a small change. Hard-nosed thoughts of food plagued me yesterday. Although I awoke fairly energetic and not hungry this morning, I’m really starting to miss eating, and I’m thinking of breaking the fast. I wish there were an easy way to overcome such feelings and to keep the fast. Even if I should decide to break earlier than I originally planned (and I have not even set a number of days to it), this fast would still be a victory for me.

Laquo; five days fasted and why. Seven days fasted and not why. Yesterday was my sixth day of fasting, and although I had a few moments of temptation to break the fast and bite into a chocolate chip cookie, I kept on. Today I’m feeling tired and weak so far, and I think the weekend late night threw my sleep schedule off a bit. After today this will become my second-longest fast ever. This post has no tag. Laquo; four days fasted. Five days fasted and why. Over the course of that day I was awake for just over 21 hours straight and had mostly high energy levels, with only a few fleeting moments feeling otherwise. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for today, but I’ll save that talk for later. Today I promised to talk about why I fast. Laquo; two days fasted. Day three is now also behind me. Awaking this morning, I felt slightly groggy, but still in good spirits. After a few minutes I even started feeling energetic. My sleep schedule has come much closer to what I’d like it to be, without the use of an alarm clock (I deeply hate waking up to an alarm). Finally I have entered the foothills of what could be a longer fast. This post has no tag. Testing WordPress from Emacs w3m. Lots of work for a small change. Married to the Sea.
