Equipment & Preparation. Equipment & Preparation. I realized, that before I could undertake a task such as running a marathon I would need to be prepared and have the right gear. Please note that for someone just starting to run, the only thing you really need is a good pair of running shoes. The first thing you should do before buying anything or running anywhere is to get checked out by your Doctor. 8211; I had an old pair that had done quite a few miles as they were about 15 years old! And I love them...

Equipment & Preparation. Run 20 – Hot Stuff! May 20, 2012. Long run today and it sure was hot! It has just hit home that the bulk of my marathon training will take place during the long, hot and humid NYC summer and this displeases me greatly! I don’t deal particularly well with the heat and will sweat profusely at the first sign of the mercury hitting 80ºF. Dealing with the hydration and chafing this causes will be interesting! I will try band aids over the nipples next time! Here are the details:.

Equipment & Preparation. Run 16 – Work calling. May 10, 2012. As I was working from home today, I decided to take advantage and set out for a quick loop of the park on my lunch hour. I wasn’t feeling particularly great (note to self: Indian food pre-run is not a good idea) but figured I would be fine once I got going. A slight setback, but nonetheless some running is better than none at all. Here are the details:. Running a marathon for beginners. Comments… add one now. Week in review – Week 13.
