Black Wind, Fire and Steel: The Protagonist's Top Power Metal Albums of 2010
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/2011/01/protagonists-top-power-metal-albums-of_13.html
For Artists and Labels! Thursday, January 13. The Protagonist's Top Power Metal Albums of 2010. Here it is, my installment of my personal. Favorite power metal albums of 2010, along with a few words about each. This will not be all-inclusive, nor the same as anyone else's list. However, I like to consider myself a fair judge of the genre and reasonably well-qualified to compile a list. Time to Be King. I wanted to enjoy this album more than I did. I haven't been thoroughly hooked on Masterplan since.

Black Wind, Fire and Steel: Biographies
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/p/biographies.html
For Artists and Labels! Amidst Alaskan waters and mountains; how I yearn to return to their embrace! As for my daily life, I love to spend time with my lovely girlfriend of three years, traverse the spiritual path I have guided myself along upon, ponder extraterrestrial existence and intervention, philosophize, read (mostly) fantastical literature, play 8-bit and 16-bit video games and watch The X-Files; otherwise, as is probably obvious, I listen to and explore a lot. 65279;Where to begin? 1- Horrible, ...

Black Wind, Fire and Steel: Morton - Come Read The Words Forbidden
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/2011/09/morton-come-read-words-forbidden.html
For Artists and Labels! Thursday, September 22. Morton - Come Read The Words Forbidden. Come Read The Words Forbidden. The evidence can no longer be ignored: an Eastern European power metal surge is coming and we’d all best stock up on Dragonland and Lost Horizon before they overtake us all. This year Chronology and Wisdom already raised the flag for Hungary and now Morton has come to hoist the banners of Ukraine. What happened to Steeldragon and Firehammer, people? On to the new material. Arctic Flame -...

Black Wind, Fire and Steel: Our Rating System
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/p/our-rating-system.html
For Artists and Labels! We have adapted a 5 point rating system (with increments in quarter points) for our use. Here's a rough guideline of how to interpret them, at a glance:. 5 - Almost flawless, at the absolute top end of the spectrum. A brilliant example of the genre, and certainly to be topping in “Best Of” lists. 45 - Incredible, and one of your possible personal favorites. A joy to listen to, and one you would recommend without hesitation to others. 1 – Bad, but still with some musical meri...

Black Wind, Fire and Steel: Myrath - Tales Of The Sands
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/2011/09/myrath-tales-of-sands_30.html
For Artists and Labels! Friday, September 30. Myrath - Tales Of The Sands. Tales Of The Sands. Before I continue carving a sculpture for these monuments of progressive metal, can I just say it’s weird to describe a band as “Eastern” when their actual country of origin, Tunisia, is geographically speaking north of the European village I live in? The swan song of the album, “Time To Grow”, takes a more straightforward power metal route, with an uplifting chorus to show you out in style. Black Wind Metal is:.

Black Wind, Fire and Steel: Fen - Epoch
http://blackwindmetal.blogspot.com/2011/03/fen-epoch.html
For Artists and Labels! Friday, March 25. The album continues much in this style, alternating calm post-rock with varying tempos of black metal, and a narrative of brilliantly written nature-inspired lyrics of loss and desolation. An excerpt from my favorite track, is as follows: “. Illumination wavers in the strengthening grip of dusk/Darkness summoned something more than dreams and empty promises". However, do not let these small errors put you off this album. “Epoch” is truly a fantast...Powerwolf - B...

For Artists and Labels! Wednesday, September 28. Healing whispers of the angels bring the sunrise again.". Need evidence of the maturity of the band's composition? Angra is clearly pleased with this effort, and so overwhelmingly am I. As Edu stated for the band, it’s “time to fly”. The Protagonist's Rating: 4.75 out of 5. Posted by The Protagonist.
