Police brutality? | Outside the Bubble
https://dailytarheelstnt.wordpress.com/2007/09/19/police-brutality
Letting you know what’s going on outside UNC. September 19, 2007 in Uncategorized. Cries of “police brutality” echoed through a town hall forum on Sept. 17 after University of Florida student Andrew Meyer was Tasered and arrested following an attempt to question Sen. John Kerry. The senator called Meyer’s inquiry “an important question” and seemed shocked at the use of force, although he has said the police must have had justification for their actions. DTH Editor’s Blog. Letting you know what’s going on outside UNC. Overheard at the fair. October 15, 2007 in Uncategorized. The NC. State Fair is quite possibly the best venue for people watching in the entire South. And the only thing better than watching random people stroll the fairgrounds is overhearing random snippets of conversation. Here’s a sample from the fair’s first Sunday:. 8220;I can just feel it. I’m feeling my way to food.”. Speaking of the same giant pumpkins (and proving giant vegetables cross all cultures).
Critiquing the ASG Coverage | Outside the Bubble

Letting you know what’s going on outside UNC. Critiquing the ASG Coverage. September 12, 2007 in Higher Ed. Encouragingly, it seems the DTH’s ASG coverage has found some involved readership outside the realm of current ASG members. Marko Gospojevic, former student body president at UNC-Pembroke, has written up a strong critique. But I’d like to point out that we devoted a lot of ink to the ASG’s successful lobbying. For a systemwide textbook policy last semester. We’ve plastered it on the front page.

The People Have Spoken. DTH public editor, Andrew Jones. Public Editor Blog Info. Letters for Jan 9-11. January 13, 2008. Letters to the Editor. Get on your computer and look at the caliber of recruits that are thinking about Carolina for next year. You’ll like it, I promise. So give the coach a little time. From the Press Box. Carolina and professional sports blog. June 15, 2008 by. So now that I’m in the great metropolis of Omaha, with no one to talk sports with and in a smoking room all to myself, there’s nothing better to do after a day’s worth of flying around than to chill on a hotel bed with some chinese food and alternate between the Miami-Georgia games and the U.S. Open. I know, life is tough. I’ve watched some good pitchers this year, but none with the stuff that Georgia’s reliever/clos...For those...

Letting you know what’s going on outside UNC. January 7, 2008 in Politics. The New Hampshire debates on Saturday night accomplished a rare feat – they actually provided insight into the candidates. ABC’s Charlie Gibson should be given some credit for trying a new format that gave the candidates more opportunity to explain themselves and respond to each other. Some of my favorite moments:. Romney and John McCain got into a veritable catfight over whether McCain’s plan for immigration reform constitu...

Traveling Tar Heels | Student stories from abroad
Student stories from abroad. January 10, 2008. When I was younger and out running wild with the other children growing up in my neighborhood, I often found myself in a state of disbelief when my mother called me in for supper. How, I would wonder, had hours gone by when it felt like mere minutes? Perhaps. But it fits well enough. I can shamelessly say that I absolutely enjoyed my time with all the guys in the Hertford College Boat Club. A bit of time in London was mixed in, along with visits from the fam...
