The Whisky | The Young Man and the Sea

The Young Man and the Sea. April 24, 2008 at 3:13 pm Posted in The Ship. Touch Something I Probably Shouldn’t. Glenmorangie comes from the northern part of Scotland. The fact that it’s a little paler than the others indicates it was aged in a bourbon cask, as opposed to a sherry cask. You’ll taste the smokiness, but it has a very clean aftertaste. Up tips the glass. The aroma hits. You’ll often get more from smelling your whisky than tasting your whisky. And then the taste. I’ve always placed an importan...

A Ponytail, a smile, and two fingers crossed behind my back: November 2007
http://saramari-pan.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 9, 2007. Kate and i got into one of our winding conversations a couple weeks ago. parents, relationship, future travels, binge drinking. the norm. No "fuzzy" teeth. "Fuzzy" teeth are based on Kate's discretion. I don't have fuzzy teeth, but since I'm not wooing Kate, that matters little. Cannot in any way shape or form be a Steelers fan. not even a little. I have some other non-negotiables, but none as static and rigid as the above two. From that conversation I wondered, what does my non...

8220;Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” - Maya Angelou. Saturday, June 28, 2008. In an attempt to see more of Taiwan, Ben and I went to Tainan. Love for the little brother in Tainan! Ben in a vase doorway at. That IS a pomegranate growing in the wild! The Young Man and the Sea. A Meal in Oman. April 13, 2008 at 3:56 pm Posted in The Food. After the pandemonium of India, I welcome the sands and the quiet of Oman. The ship docks in the city of Salalah and the folks and I spend the day resting on the beaches of the Arabian Sea, watching dolphins turn somersaults in the cloudless sky. So this is where we die, I say. Oh stop it, says my mom. But I see her jump when we hear the handle of the door open. From the top, clockwise, spiraling inward: Yogurt salad...

The Blog of Stuart Pearl Photography: Cutting The Ribbon on Cleveland's New Bridge

Thursday, December 5, 2013. Cutting The Ribbon on Cleveland's New Bridge. 169; Stuart Pearl 2013. Click on Image to Enlarge for Slideshow. As a photographer I enjoy looking for interesting light when I visit downtown Cleveland. These are the unique shadows and highlights that create special urban compositions. It's a challenge to create something really different that will make people stop and consider the image before them. I want to show something they haven't seen before. Politicians, construction wor...

The Young Man and the Sea. The Greatest Day of the Cruise. May 8, 2008 at 12:59 pm Posted in The Ship. We’ve traveled to Hawaii. We’ve traveled to Australia. To Hong Kong, to Vietnam, to India. We’ve sailed through the Suez Canal. Through the Mediterranean. We visited Italy, Spain and England. The Sydney Opera House. The pyramids. The Sistine Chapel. But no destination, no difficult passage, no wonder of the world can compare to an afternoon of free beer. 1 Comment ». Feed for comments on this post.

just talking: June 2009
http://jgoshe.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
My grandpa always says "i'm just talking" when he is, indeed, just talking. and that's what i'm doing here. this is a space to connect with family, friends, and students, as i pursue my dreams and live life to its fullest! Tuesday, June 23, 2009. I'm currently locked out of my apartment for about 30 more minutes, so after work I headed to a place near home that feels almost-sort-of-just-like home, a cafe in Ximending called Lattea. And, they have "party" fries! The perfect afternoon snack!

Nothing Sacred | The Young Man and the Sea
https://paulkita.wordpress.com/2008/04/20/nothing-sacred
The Young Man and the Sea. April 20, 2008 at 9:37 pm Posted in The World. I can still remember the week we studied ancient Egypt in Mrs. Magillaway’s class. I was twelve, and fascinated that a society could build temples out of sand, preserve bodies from death and command the Nile. Ramses II. Cleopatra. The awesome King Tutankaman. It was. Ghostbusters, Johnny Quest. Legends of the Hidden Temple. The grave robbers haven’t gone away, they’ve shifted shapes. Leave a Comment ». Feed for comments on this post.
