Even though in the chapter it was very brief, it seems though that even though his other son Louis left home, and stole 50 horses, that Louis was his favorite son. He told Father that he could make a great man in the family and that he would have been the one to get the land, but instead it's now going to the mission because Louis is gone. Friday, February 15, 2013. After finishing reading the book, The Surrounded, it came with an ending that left you hanging and wondering what was going to happen next. I thought that since Elise killed the Sheriff, she would have atleast fought and tried to espace with Archilde instead of just agreeing to turn themselves in.
