Business Objects In Short. News and experiences working as a BI consultant. Wednesday, January 7, 2009. When migrating from one BusinessObjects Enterprise XI version to another you need to perform an update of the CMS repository. This step is started via the Update Objects button in Central Configuration Manager (CCM). What does this step exactly do? Well, difficult to say, but what I know through documentation. And SAP Support is this:. Updates the sample reports and Universes. Have I missed something?

http://boinshort.blogspot.com/2009/01/authentication-and-scheduling-problem.html
Business Objects In Short. News and experiences working as a BI consultant. Thursday, January 22, 2009. Authentication And Scheduling Problems. We have had strange issues in BusinessObjects. Enterprise XI R2 and 3.0 where;. Log in with AD Authentication stops working. A timeout occurs after a while. Users without AD aliases can log on without any problems. When scheduling reports the report job gets stuck in status Pending. After a lot of investigation and testing we isolated the problem to the BOE.

http://igeek2live.blogspot.com/2008/06/migrations-and-reporting.html
Ravings of a BI Consultant. Thursday, June 5, 2008. Well, it's been a while since my last update - I went on holiday for two weeks, and we drove up to the north west of Australia. Before I went away however, I sat the first exam for the Business Objects Certified Professional certification for Data Integrator - and managed to pass! Have you had any experiences like this with migrations? Posted by Josh Fletcher. June 6, 2008 at 3:44 AM. What I'd forgotten to ask is what the exam was like? Hi Sandor, the e...

Ravings of a BI Consultant. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Thoughts. Hi all. Sorry again for the gap since my last post (at least it's shorter than the last gap! Today I wanted to put down my thoughts about the new BO Enterprise XI 3.1, having recently implemented at a few sites, including a Dev/UAT/Prod 3-tier system. So, what's changed? And what did I like and dislike? All-in-one-go, or a folder of reports and a few universes at a time, or some other method? Being able ...

( Geek2Live.net ): Virtual Machines
http://igeek2live.blogspot.com/2008/04/virtual-machines.html
Ravings of a BI Consultant. Saturday, April 5, 2008. I've spent a lot of time in the last year or so building virtual machines for Business Objects training, development and testing. Up until now I've always used Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to do so. However, working with a lot of different companies, I've seen the standard virtual server environment is primarily VMWare ESX. As the new VMWare Workstation v6 has been recently released, I decided to give it a try a few days ago. Virtual PC also has issues wi...
