Resurrecting Dallas' past with Ephemera. Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Kirby's Pig Stand No. 4. It isn't clear what happened to all those Pig Stands. From the beginning, at least in Dallas, they were easy targets for thieves. From old news accounts it appears a Pig Stand burglary or robbery was an almost weekly occurrence. When gas was rationed during World War II the Pig Stands saw a decline in business. By the end of the war there were probably only a few Stands left in Dallas. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Corner of Industrial Blvd. and Corinth St. True Western style and color throughout. 45 foot bar inlaid with silver dollars. Bob's quarter horses (some of the the world's most beautiful show horses). Are on display in the Ranch House. I can't begin to do justice to the history of the place, so let me enlist some other folks to do it for me.

Resurrecting Dallas' past with Ephemera. Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The restaurant stayed in business a good 30 years at least, and I found an online review as late as 2005. The name of the street was changed from Cridelle to Webb Chapel Extension (so romantic), and sometime after 2005 the restaurant changed hands and became the Rio Bravo Mexican Restaurant. The building is relatively unchanged although the color scheme has gone from white with green and yellow trim to simply black and white.
