The random and miscellaneous rantings and ravings of a devoted Mavericks fan. Monday, April 11, 2005. Playoff Rotation: Part II. Now that the playoffs are almost upon us, I thought I'd revisit the playoff rotation one more time before we get underway. The most noteable changes as I see them to what I previously had predicted is the reduction of minutes for Daniels and the additional minutes for Van Horn and Bradley. At this point, I expect a rotation something like this:. Dampier - 30 mpg. Howard - 35 mpg.

The random and miscellaneous rantings and ravings of a devoted Mavericks fan. Thursday, December 30, 2004. Dampier - Lack of effort or lack of minutes? One of the biggest criticisms I've heard of my Dampier Index. Is that even though the numbers seem to indicate that Dampier should definitely get 30 minutes a night, the reason that often doesn't happen is that a) he isn't playing well or b) he's in foul trouble. David Moore addressed the question here. Michael P. Reaves, Manhattan, N.Y. Dampier’s product...

Here are the top 10 teams from the Sagarin ratings, with offensive and defensive efficiency rankings (pp100) and rebounding differential rankings noted:. As you can see, the Maver...

The random and miscellaneous rantings and ravings of a devoted Mavericks fan. Friday, February 11, 2005. The Finley Shooting Slump: My Take. The Internet community of Mavs fans is abuzz about "Finley's tantrum" (reported by Mike Fisher here. And Don Nelson calling Finley out (reported here. Rather than focusing on the "tantrum" or why Nelson decided to call Finley out, however, I thought I'd look at why Finley might be in a protracted slump (.407 FG% since January 1). Assisted jump shots: 67%. The Mavs d...

The random and miscellaneous rantings and ravings of a devoted Mavericks fan. Monday, March 14, 2005. Typically, a team has a fairly set rotation heading into the last 6 weeks of the season. However, circumstances can intervene to prevent such a rotation from being established, and that certainly is the case with the Mavericks this year. As such, I thought it would be interesting to kick around the idea of a playoff rotation. Assuming a healthy roster, who should be included in the rotation? One thing th...

The random and miscellaneous rantings and ravings of a devoted Mavericks fan. Saturday, April 24, 2010. A Novel Thought: Start Your Five Best Players (And Other Assorted Ramblings). Last night's game really left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, for a number of reasons. I won't harp on the officiating any more than I did last night online, but I agree with Erick Dampier. Wrote an excellent piece about Carlisle running the "hot" players into the ground in Game 3, but this seems to be an ongoing pattern ...
