Saturday, January 18, 2014. Saturday in the Park. Today, we went to the local park. It has a duck pond, so we watched the ducks for awhile. There were little duck footprints all over the sand. I quickly saw why! I observed how winter is a season of contrasts. The sky was a beautiful blue,. But the trees were bare except for the evergreens. Saturday, May 3, 2014. The landscaped flowers are in bloom! The gusty winds from earlier in the week have subsided. And the cooler temperatures are giving way. To the warming rays of spring. Today was finally a beautiful and perfect day. To be photographed among the flowers. The roses are beautiful and smell just a sweet as they look! I don't know the name of this amazing purple flower,. But it had a lot of bees around it! The shadow over this flowering bush is the flag on the flagpole. Do you see it?

Saturday, March 29, 2014. Rio Grande Botanic Gardens. Today was a beautiful spring Saturday to go to. The flowers in pots or planters were brilliant. The planters along the grass were lined with Easter flowers. They reminded me of how special early spring is! Trees were starting to bloom and bud, too. The Japanese Garden had the most beautiful trees. With blossoms that looked like paintings. Some leaves were turning green,. And some buds are just about ready to blossom! Was a busy place to visit today.

Sunday, February 9, 2014. Sunday at the Zoo. The calendar says that it is still winter,. But it was a beautiful Sunday to visit the zoo! One polar played with a black plastic box. He tossed it and dove after it again and again! It was fun to watch the polar bear having fun! There is a train that runs around the park. I watched it pass the giraffes. The giraffe area has huts for look out stations! The elephants are near the giraffes. They have a new baby Asian Elephant,. The amphibian exhibit was closed.
