TIA: This is Africa: Being One With Nature
http://damianbaker.blogspot.com/2007/08/being-one-with-nature.html
TIA: This is Africa. Summer 2007 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Being One With Nature. Just a quick post about a little interaction with nature that was a first for me. Lying on the couch with the laptop on my lap, I felt something against my leg and rubbed it. I felt it again and this time, it felt alot bigger than a mosquito. I lifted my leg, looked around but there was nothing. I thought it was just a corner of one of the cushions. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
TIA: This is Africa: Taking care of the Mzungu
http://damianbaker.blogspot.com/2007/09/taking-care-of-mzungu.html
TIA: This is Africa. Summer 2007 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Taking care of the Mzungu. He then said to all the kids on the bus something too as if he was giving out to them all. There was some more small talk but nothing worth reading about. My next encounter with him was when I was getting a dala dala to Msasani to football. I was thankful to be honest as usually they don't let you because opening and closing the door can be a problem. TIA: This is Africa. Summer 2007 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Thursday, September 6, 2007. What Awaits Me at Home. The whole standing out as a mzungu won't be missed. Being 5,000tsh (€3), where scumbags walk the streets thinking they are better than me while spitting, smoking "Johnny Blue" and drinking cider! And finally. where I won't be living like a king for a few quid! The things I have already marked on the calendar to look forward to are:. Seeing Arcade Fire on concert in October, it shall be epic!
TIA: This is Africa: Chicken Run
http://damianbaker.blogspot.com/2007/07/chicken-run.html
TIA: This is Africa. Summer 2007 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Monday, July 30, 2007. Ladies and gentlemen, I got 'em. It was a bit of effort but I got them. Their names are Fruhstuck(white hen) and Abendessen(brown hen). I walked to Usalama market on Sunday morning in the hunt for chickens. My idea was to buy tiny little chickens. Usalama market only sell grown up hens that are meant for dinner that evening, so my hunt continued. They have 5 weeks until they are shipped out again to a new home. She's a cl...

Christmas and the Rising Sun. 3 Week holiday in Japan to Spend Christmas 2010 and New Years With Philip, Eric Co. Friday, December 31, 2010. New Years Eve in Tokyo. One thing about Tokyo and Philip told me this before we arrived there that just walking around Tokyo is most of the experience and he was right. Trying to take it all in probably what most people do. I don't think there is anywhere else in the world like it. It was an absolute epic New Years celebration. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Christmas and the Rising Sun. 3 Week holiday in Japan to Spend Christmas 2010 and New Years With Philip, Eric Co. Monday, December 27, 2010. We then walked to Kyoto Castle only to find out it was closed for the Christmas season. I had still yet to see a Japanese Castle and it wasn't looking like I'd see one. After going back to the hostel to reorganise and have a little nap, we went for dinner in a restaurant called Manzo Hearts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Christmas and the Rising Sun. 3 Week holiday in Japan to Spend Christmas 2010 and New Years With Philip, Eric Co. Saturday, January 1, 2011. Tokyo - New Years Day. They left the final decision up to me whether we would go into Tokyo or just keep it local. I could see that everyone was so tired, myself included and also I figured that if we went into Tokyo, we would be wrecked again tomorrow for my final full day in Japan so we didn't end up leaving the diner until about midnight.
