Damian McNicholl's Blog: June 2010
http://damianm.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
A blog about a guy from Northern Ireland who's a published author and lives in America. Tuesday, June 15, 2010. I really haven't blogged for a while. Has blogging become an oxymoron? I used to read blogs and now seldom do. Why? I don't have the time and so many blogs are rubbish. Besides, I do 140 character updates on Twitter that uploads automatically to my Facebook and blog. And any time I do have should be spent on writing related to my fiction. Shouldn't complain. I'm not. Good to be busy. I was born...
Damian McNicholl's Blog: October 2010
http://damianm.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
A blog about a guy from Northern Ireland who's a published author and lives in America. Sunday, October 10, 2010. Chopping Wood and return of Hornet. A tree feel near our house last week as a result of the violent storms we've been having of late. I was up in the office and heard it crash on the ground. So, when a tree falls in the forest- yes, it can be heard, Virginia. On the subject of the Y, it's looking brilliant as a result of its multi-million dollar facelift. My old nemesis, the Hornet.
Damian McNicholl's Blog: August 2009
http://damianm.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
A blog about a guy from Northern Ireland who's a published author and lives in America. Saturday, August 29, 2009. Thoughts about Ted Kennedy. I'm Irish and, of course, that means I'm supposed to hero-worship the Kennedy's as a matter of principle. I didn't intend to watch the funeral mass for Ted today. However, I did. I was riveted. Absolutely riveted. It was as if a President had died, perhaps more so. I haven't really felt such biting sympathy for someone I didn't know since Princess Diana died.
Damian McNicholl's Blog: January 2010
http://damianm.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A blog about a guy from Northern Ireland who's a published author and lives in America. Sunday, January 17, 2010. Although I don't blog on here as much or as long as I used to (need to spend my energy on writing that pays the bills, right? I do Twitter and my tweets appear on my sidebar. That's on the right. I do rather like Tweets. Everything's got to be said in 140 characters. Vegetables, vegetables, vegetables. No matter how you try to tell yourself you can still do it- it ain't happening. I was born ...
Damian McNicholl's Blog: April 2010
http://damianm.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
A blog about a guy from Northern Ireland who's a published author and lives in America. Sunday, April 11, 2010. Started rereading the new novel Twisted Agendas. Again and have decided I need to make some changes. Was terrified it would suck as some of one's work does depending on one's mood. On that point, I do wish some published writers would take their time and not churn out books. Some are really badly written and edited. Instead of building an audience, they're losing readers. Monday, April 05, 2010.

coming out / staying out: The Nail That Sticks Out...
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2010/01/nail-that-sticks-out.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. The Nail That Sticks Out. I'm looking down at the concrete sidewalk, thinking about the surface and is it too hard for my feet- should I be on the asphalt- and telling myself to keep moving, don't slow down. As I watch my running shoes moving ahead, my eyes catch something stamped onto one of the concrete rectangles of the sidewalk, street graffiti of sorts, in neat, small block letters:. The nail that sticks out gets hammered down. I used t...

coming out / staying out: "So Please Don't Pretend..."
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2010/01/so-please-dont-pretend.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. So Please Don't Pretend.". Imagine reading a book. Don’t change the words or meanings of this book in order to be able to contain them. Please do not claim that I said or believe any of the following things…. And then I read, in the very next paragraph,. I am not making any unnuanced arguments that are without exception. So, please, don’t…pretend that I have in order to disqualify my work. Well, lets for a moment say youre correct and I cant...

coming out / staying out: December 2010
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. I didn't write another personal word for the next twenty years. No stories. No poems. No screenplays, for heaven's sake. No letters that could not be read by an acquaintance. Then they were gone. And I forgot that night. I forgot the impetus, I forgot the feeling of relief at having them gone, I forgot the need to examine, to express, to expand. Until I couldn't forget any longer. Links to this post. coming out / staying out: Knowing
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2009/12/knowing.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. Some people said they knew, some people said they always knew. That felt odd, it felt odd to be told that someone always knew something that you didn't always know, especially because what they knew was about you. Or, at least, they always thought they knew. And now turned out to be right. Because you were now telling them they were right. They were sure. They knew. But they didn't really know. They only thought they knew. I think you nailed...

coming out / staying out: Reader
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2010/01/reader.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. I can see from the tracking reports that there are many, many people reading these posts. I have seen some of your comments and some of you have written me by email. But I want a little more from my reader. I would like a little more than an IP address, a town in Arkansas or Bangladesh. I'd like to hear from you. I'm looking forward to it, actually. Http:/ the-day-after-suicide.blogspot.com/. Http:/ unrequitedbear.blogspot.com/. A reader fro...

coming out / staying out: Standing on a Chair
http://comingoutstayingout1.blogspot.com/2010/01/standing-on-chair.html
Coming out / staying out. Stories from the bottom of the cliff. Standing on a Chair. I don't suppose the student's performance on the chair that day helped me in any way toward resolution of my own inner conflicts. I think of this incident- this student bashing gay people on a chair, unchallenged as far as I can remember- as I read today of the Notre Dame newspaper and the charming cartoon they chose to publish. This week. "What's the easiest way to turn a fruit into a vegetable," it asks. Well, some tim...

I need new shoes. The road is long and the way is hard. Friday, December 23, 2005. Christmas in PC World. There is a really interesting post at Damian McNicholl’s blog. I hope you enjoy your break and come back in one piece in January . So, feck it, Happy Christmas! I suspect blogging will be light for the coming week, but you never know. Is that a McWilliamsism. In fact is McWilliamsism now a McWilliamsism or should we continue to refer to it as neologism? Posted by Pampooties at 11:09 am. The office pa...
