The Case for Jim Rice: August 2002
http://jim-rice.blogspot.com/2002_08_01_archive.html
The Case for Jim Rice. A concerted effort to dispell the uninformed opinions about Jim Rice's qualifications for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Monday, August 19, 2002. But what if we ratcheted them up a notch? If we set the theshholds at 325 HR, 1100 RBI and a .280 average, we find just 24 eligible men in the game's history. Almost 90% of them, 21 to be exact, have already been inducted to the Hall, so now we're clearly in an area where election in almost certain. But what about the next level? Beats me....

Sox Thoughts: Sox vs. Rangers, April 5th, 2006

One man's views on the Boston Red Sox. Wednesday, April 05, 2006. Sox vs. Rangers, April 5th, 2006. The first running diary of the season! 8211; Crap, we get the Rangers home broadcast tonight, with that weenie Josh Lewin. As the play-by-play man, and Tom Grieve, whose nickname is “Tag”, as the colorless color man. And it’s one of the Fox networks. God help me. 8211; Kameron Loe on the mound for Texas, yet another new member of the Stupid Spelling Hall of Fame…. 8211; Hey, Ernie Banks is in the house....

Royals Thoughts: April 2006
http://royals-thoughts.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
One man's views of the Kansas City Royals. Thursday, April 20, 2006. You will not see me complaining about the Royals today. I already have, and so has everyone else, and I just don't see the need to pile on at this point. Besides, it's freakin' depressing. Zack Greinke is back in extended Spring Training. Alex Gordon, as advertised, is destroying the Texas League. Howell is 3-0 in his three starts, with a 2.65 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, not to mention a strikeout to walk ratio of 3-to-1, and nearly eigh...268/3...

Sox Thoughts: Home Opener

One man's views on the Boston Red Sox. Tuesday, April 11, 2006. Just a few quick thoughts on the team so far:. I guess that theory about Mike Lowell being done is now worthless. If he hits this way all season, coupled with Beckett's performance, that trade is going to look like the steal of the century, no matter how good those prospects play in Florida. The little guy from the Jimmy Fund singing the anthem? The flag that covers The Wall? Classic. Well done. Trot tweaking a groin muscle. Subscribe to: Po...

Lost In Left Field: October 2005
http://lostinleftfield.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Lost In Left Field. One man's view of the world of baseball. Wednesday, October 19, 2005. The 2005 season was pretty disappointing, so let’s address that and get it out of the way, so we can focus on the real work at hand, which is to build for next year. There are positives that need to be remembered, which need to serve as the foundation for a better year in 2006 and beyond. From 2004 to 2005, there was improvement from horrific and embarrassing to merely terrible. Let’s just leave it at that. Sign a v...
