Proclaiming, Enjoying, Surrendering, Loving, Serving. Learning what it means to "ABIDE". Thursday, September 29, 2011. Life With A Foreign Family: WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOUR SOCKS! I'm learning that no matter where you live the things we do often come from the fact that yo' momma did it that way, as her momma did, and her momma, and so on and so on. And I've come to one conclusion in my short time here: this American girl wants to be open to learning some lessons from this culture she is engulfed in!

Proclaiming, Enjoying, Surrendering, Loving, Serving. Learning what it means to "ABIDE". Thursday, July 12, 2012. Not The Way It's Suppose To Be. Disclaimer: I know I haven't posted in a while. That's partly because I've been so stinkin' busy and also partly because when I think of writing I typically am so tired when I sit down at night the last thing ANYONE wants is for me to try to articulate my thoughts! Yesterday this country observed a day during the war when many people were killed. Loss, death, h...

The Varden Family: October 2010
http://vardenfamily.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Our baby girl is 17 months old! We have been so busy these past couple of months that I haven't had much time to write. We have spent several weekends in Daphne and a couple in Jemison and some time at the lake. Whew! Glad that things are about to slow down a little but I know the holidays are right around the corner and things will start to pick up again. She is still sleeping around 11-12 hours a night, going to bed around 7:30 and sleeping between 7-7:30 most mornings.

Sunday, September 12, 2010. Our Baby Can Read! We have been borrowing the "Your Baby can Read" DVDs from a friend of ours and its working! She was saying a few of the words on the screen before they said them, even doing some motions for the words before asked to do so (ex- shaking her head when the word "no" came up on the screen). Our baby girl is so smart! We actually got to see Cory's plane land and when I told her that it was daddy's plane- she squealed and started saying "daddy, daddy" over and ove...

Thursday, March 31, 2011. And Baby Makes 4! My wife called me all the way in India to tell me she's pregnant! So, my family found out then as well. :) Mackenzie made a card for Cory's parent's that we delivered to them on the Friday after Cory got home from his trip. She colored on it and traced her hands all over the card that read "They thought this family could use another member, So they tell me I'm going to be a big sister in November! His family was excited as well. We are so blessed! Cory has been...

Sunday, November 2, 2014. The NC State Fair! Jimmy and I had not been to the State Fair since Charlie was nine months old, so we were very excited to take the boys this year! Shortly after walking through the gates, we found this little replica of Hatteras! Little Charlie with great big Smoky the Bear! Getting to try out the helicopter! It seems he is mystified! Checking out the available seating. That's a BIG bulldozer! A cute little snack stand, with reasonable prices! We got Moon Pies and Pepsi, along...

Thursday, January 30, 2014. My man playin' that guitar for the first time in quite a while. It's been too long! Playing the sticks (a.k.a., my salad tongs). Playing Jimmy's tiny bongo drum that he's had since college. Using the salad tongs to play the drum. Dancing during another night of Advent worship. Fun times! And a bit chaotic, but that's okay! We lucked up and got this picture the same night as the one above. This was our Christmas card picture, and I just love it! We talked to them about St. ...
