I generally don't dislike essays, but the writing and rewriting and rewriting and endless rewriting makes it "feel like there's blood coming from my forehead" as one author put it. I feel confident that by the time I'm in my forties or fifties, I could reach the executive level of a major technology corporation. But would I feel successful if I did so?
