It’s not what you know… →. June 2, 2011 · 4:35 pm. The theme for our second core day of Common Purpose was ‘courage’. We were warned that our comfort zones would be stretched and that we should step up to the challenges of being a leader. I immediately felt the fear (not courageous at all then? But then found myself volunteering for all and sundry. For me, I initially felt that the day had nothing to do with courage, that is until I came to reflect on it a few days later. I’ve visited quite a few times in the past but it amazes me how much it changes between visits. The whole city centre felt like a building site, and I can never read maps at the best of times.
