Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Choosing books for read aloud. Here are the topics and the books I chose to read. Tillie and the wall. Curious George at the airport. How could you not have at least one of these! I first read about Curious George in my second or third grade reader. But those books are great, too. Horton hears a who. I have been trying to read some different books not just my old favorites and this has been a way to branch out. Sunday, January 10, 2016. New Year, time to restart my blog. By Ezr...

Prairie Prose: September 2012
http://prairie-prose.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 23, 2012. This looked like an interesting site with many possibilities. I first thought of using it to create a timeline of a person's life or a family timeline. Then I thought about adding in local, national, and world events. This is just a brief idea using my father and his life and a few events that occurred during his life. http:/ timeglider.com/t/80bea87c005d8ab9? Saturday, September 22, 2012. Prairie Prose: Books 5, 6, 7
http://prairie-prose.blogspot.com/2016/02/books-5-6-7.html
Friday, February 12, 2016. Books 5, 6, 7. Rather an eclectic selection for this post. We had a snow day on Groundhog's Day so I caught up on some things, like reading. Have had this book on my shelf for awhile and finally read it, almost in one sitting. After reading. The Invention of Hugo Cabret. And reading a few review of this book I just had to get it. It was wonderful. I find Selznick's storytelling through the combination of text and image fascinating. In Hugo Cabret. Also check out these two sites:.

Prairie Prose: April 2012
http://prairie-prose.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 2, 2012. On the downhill side. We are in the fourth quarter - 32 days of school remaining. I finished all the paper work for the spring book fair. It was a great success. In addition to getting some books for the library, we also purchased a book for each of the elementary students. We will give them out at the Award Ceremony on the last day of school. It will be a good start to their summer reading. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). K-12 librarian in a small town in rural Nebraska.

Monday, April 1, 2013. March Madness may still be going on for basketball fans, but for me it is over. March started out with Read Across America. We had four special readers from the Chadron State College football team. Students and readers alike enjoyed the afternoon. Click her. E and read more and see the pictures. Then came end of the quarter, Parent-Teacher conferences, and the book fair. The book fair went GREAT. The highlight for the month was the arrival of my diploma. YEAH!

What do you do if your hero move in just two doors down the street? That is what happened to Steven Satlow. Growing up in Brooklyn, Steven and his father share a LOVE of baseball especially the Brooklyn Dodgers. It is 1948 and Jackie Robinson is Steven's newest hero after an outstanding rookie season with the Dodgers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
